  1. Yes obviously he was forced out but why don't you make them fire you? That way they have to buy you out. It's not like he couldn't always get a job. I guess he just got tired of the #####.
  2. I think with a few exceptions age plays a key role in whether posters want Brad to stay or go. Younger board people are not as patient and want immediate results. Older posters who can remember the really bad days of Billiken hoops say "it's not that bad lets give him some more time". Part of it is a generational thing. Instant gradification vs.slow and steady. We should all remember we are all Billiken fans who live and die over this stuff.{A few outside flamers excepted} While I support Brad and think he should be back, if CL fired him tonight I would support her and jump on the new coaches band wagon. I really don't think it's personal. The only coach I ever hated was Buddy Brehmer, yet I was a kid then.
  3. thanks. the number does not suprise me.
  4. I don't know but I wouldn't be surprised if Tubby is making close to a couple of million. He flirted with the NBA a few years ago .That always drives up the price of poker.
  5. I agree. If your stated goal is to make the NCAA's and you don't meet that goal you can't give yourself an A. I know this the era of grade inflation but I would have to give him something less. Even on TV he should have said our goal was to make the NCAA's,we didn't therefore I'll take a B. That would show that your not satisfied.
  6. Kramer will not be free. Brad has said that if he attends SLU he will be on scholarship. There are limitations for what walk ons can do so Brad would not put those limitations on Kramer. Since we never use all of our scholarships it rally doesn't make any difference.
  7. Harry Rodger was 6-7 in the early 70's. Played point guard on offense center on defense. Played a little in the ABA for the Spirits.
  8. When the final four was in St. Louis SLU was a co-host along with the MVC. Does anybody know why we aren't involved this time around?
  9. I agree with STLfan, you do nothing for a year.He has a contract and should be able to spin that to recruits. If after next year you haven't won on the court or in recruiting you would have to fire him. As Pdiddy said in the other post you can't be a lame duck, that last year. If he has a good year you can then extend him 2 or 3 years. What I really don't want as a fan is a so-so year on the court and in recruiting, where there is no clear cut answer. Come on Brad get it done.
  10. Monroe gets my vote. I need to get out my tape. "Sitting in on a Jam Session" and watch Douglas throw a couple down. Grawer ran a lot of back door lob plays for him.
  11. I would rather see a top 50 basketball program. That success can help you build a better university. The reverse is not true. Besides I don't buy season tickets to see research program.
  12. I agree Brad's contract is a dilemma. I don't know how you can currently give him a contract extension unless he would agree to a relatively modest buy out clause.
  13. I wouldn't bet against Missouri coming up with another scholarship or two.
  14. I've been told there will be no fee for the end zone.
  15. Roy I agree. I've got x dollars to give to the program. Obviously good seats would go to the head of the line.
  16. Tonka I've heard a lot of differnt numbers and I don't know who to believe but I think it's going to ba an annual number and not a PSL number. I'm sure from their standpoint they want an annual number to pay off debt service. I have also heard that they will go after a five year commitment. I suppose that means that if after 5 years we become a hot ticket they can up the price or move you out. I just hope CL is very carefull. I know people who left the program after Debbie Yow screwed up our last move. She's got a tough job to maximize revenue without losing fans and support.
  17. Center court will cost more,but how much more? I've heard a lot of different numbers,some of those numbers are ridiculously high. I went to a hockey game a few months ago. Sat in expensive corporate tickets. There was nobody there except for groups of people sitting high in the end zone cheap seats.There is no demand for expensive Blue's tickets and I don't think there is that much demand for expensive Bill's tickets. All your Billiken Club money will do is let you pick before others based on totals. It will have nothing to do with the price of the ticket unless your ticket is built into your Club donation.{tax donation}
  18. I agree. I think they are mistaken if they think they can lug 4000 tickets unless the lug is fairly small on most of those tickets. I also don't believe there is a large corporate demand that is going to come in and sweep up expensive court side seats. Someone told me that some pricing guidelines will be out this spring.
  19. If I remember correctly somebody from the athletic dept. said they would run shuttles between metro link and the stadium. If true hope they run better then the ones they currently use for the students.
  20. 104 teams won 20 or more games. My guess is that none of the 104 will be fired.
  21. PS. they have us playing DePaul.
  22. The web site nitology.com has us in as a 7th seed and our friends at Missouri out.
  23. I think the biggest mistake that Brad had made this year is playing Luke at the 4.I believe the pack has been exposed because of our weakness inside. If our guards didn't sag so much to help we could stay further out. I would hope somebody on our coaching staff would breakdown our tape this summer to see if we we're as vulnerable from the 3ptline as many of us believe, and if we lost games because of that. Playing a bigger 4 also helps our rebounding which was average at best. What defense you give up by playing Polk less would be made up by the offense any sub would give you over Dwayne.
  24. I don't know whats been previously said and don't have time to read whats above, but I think it's very important that we remain with Xavier-Dayton and possibly the 49ers. I think we are in the A10 to set up the next league whatever shape that league may take. If you go to the valley your stuck with those schools foreverI'd agree with Roy that we need to do a better job of spinning our current status. We will be in better shape to move to a new conference from the A10 then any other place. And we will be in a new conference. I don't know when but I can guarantee everyone there will be changes.
  25. I was at a SLU function the other night and Donnigan was there representing the Athletic Dept. In his talk he said he had gotten a verbal from a high school junior. A 6-4 middle back. Didn't give a name-seemed real excited.
