I think the athletic department did a good job of promotion. Radio adds,groupons,bill boards,you can only do so much. Winning will bring them in but to keep the record straight we always had pocket schedules. Old farts like me wishes we still did them.

The fund was close to 1 billion before the 08 melt down. It took a big bath partly because they kept a lot of the tenet stock they got for the hospital.

I though Tuicci said they were in the 35k range.

I thought they got a single pledge of 20k for charters,but maybe the first pledge was for 10k. There was a 5k pledge,several two's a few grands,a couple of 500's and a lot of 100's.

I do know in the past assistant salaries were supplemented through running summer camps. They did most of the work and got most of the money. This doesn't seem to be a priority for Rick. Maybe they should re-think?

Maybe some young black men on the team would like to relate to someone who is not 60 and white. Maybe that young black coach might have a little easier time in recruiting an intercity high school. Balance.

I reject the whole idea that RM will name his successor. He may make suggestions but it will be up to May and Biondi to choose a coach. I don't know whose ear the good Doc has but he could be a player in the decision especially if he's writing the check.

I won't give him credit for the arena because it should hane been done 10 years earlier, but I will give him credit for closing on Rick.

You give Biondi way too much credit. His coaching fires were terrible. His hires took way to long . It took him way too long to build the arena. I was at the banquet when he promised a top 50 program. It took him 25 years before he lucked into it. Sorry I won't sing his praises towards athletics.

The onlt thing that bother me in all of this is I'm not sure I trust Biondi to do the right thing.

The only way Rick is leaving Slu besides retirement is if he and Biondi can't coexist.And I don't believe Biondi is that stupid to drive off one of the best marketing devices that he has.

Their historical timeline has at least 1 error. They say Greise was named in 1971 . It was Greise in 1966 when I lived there as a freshman.

Man you must of been rich if Fallstaff was your broke beer. How about Huber or Weidemans? I'm not sure if it was brewed there but Fallstaff had a hospitality room in south city, chippewa I think.Free beer on Friday afternoon. We did some damage.
