  2. Personally think we should be focused on internal improvement of SLU, and not worried about the conference as a whole. Even with a stronger A-10, the last two years wouldn’t have led to bids. Internal performance, and department expectations, are a way bigger concern right now.

  3. At a time as fragile as now, one would think strides would be essential- Loychi was an improvement, but still a lot more to do. There was a tweet out the other day tha a D1 conf( cant remember which) is telling teams they have to carry a certain NET ranking or they will be penalized. I've always thought if we're not gonna cut ties with a school, they have to be forced to improve.

  4. The Jim Crews era saw Aaron Hines(walk-on) have the highest MPG in the conference. We had Austin Gillman, Matt Neufeld(to name a few) as our "starting center" .. Likely our most talented player was Davell Roby. We had WBAT(Worst Billiken of All Time) Brett Jolly fire up 3s and then talk trash to opposing teams and get technical fouls. Nothing will ever be that bad. I do agree that this team will not be as good as last years, which was pitifully inadequate and underperforming.

  5. Saving Private Ryan, I once took 5 Germans to the Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) Theater in Wiesbaden, Germany to see the movie (they wanted to see it) it wasn't a fun Friday after that viewing. Band of Brothers is the absolute best military movie/show ever. Me and a fellow Lieutenant had our cots close inour tent and would watch on a portable DVD player before we went to sleep every night days before we went into Iraq 2003. We were there day 1 of the invasion. Spoiler alert I survived.

  6. The Billikens need to win more games, period. Good A-10, bad A-10, the current level of success for SLU isn’t enough. The team the last two seasons has not had enough to truly be an at-large candidate. 25 regular season wins has to be the benchmark. If we’re still missing the tournament and hitting that mark? Then it’s time to focus on the conference.

  7. Some great movies listed in this thread. I’d add The Patriot as a great American war film. (Maybe more appropriate for 4th of July)

  8. war movies are awesome. i love the patriotic holidays just for that reason. watch the old war movies. my top 3: 3. Saving Private Ryan if you are not shaken and moved by this movie, something wrong with you. the brutality of the landing is disturbing, but by all accounts this is the most accurate ever made. 2. Hackshaw Ridge again a movie to demonstrate the brutality of war and what our brave vets endured. incredible 1. a tie for first with two mainly for entertainment but still showing the brutality. The Great Escape and M.A.S.H.

  9. A lot of contemporary ones on this list. I met Durant the Bllackhawk Down pilot once after his talk about the incident. Nice guy a little (actually a lot) salty about Clinton not approving a armored vehicle to be in Somalia. It would've made a difference in the situation but it wasn't foreseen as necessary at the time. Ya'll may not know but we have some troops in Somalia today. The Strait of Hormuz is very strategically important.

  12. Everybody wanted/hoped/needed Junior year Javonte+. Sadly it was not to be and not his fault. You can blame Ford for keeping him in the lineup too much or not recruiting over him but.......
