  1. This does potentially affect the Billikens if BSMW is no longer in a position to produce the 10 or so games a year they do now. The A10 may have a deal to stream games on ESPN+ but only if they are being produced already. It will be one thing if some hedge fund steps in to buy the assets and keep running them. Or even if the Cardinals themselves buy BSMW and run it independently. In both scenarios they would still need the content the Bills provide to round out offerings. But in a world where the Cardinals and Blues go to direct streaming (STL City SC will already be streaming exclusively on AppleTV), there may not be a BSMW. And SLU may need to find new partners to actually do the production.

  2. It isn’t going to get cheaper. It will get more expensive and a lot more expensive if you want to watch more than one local team. The cord cutting and debundling of cable was the worst thing to happen to sports fans.

  9. I'll be watching later too.........The Billikens and Dallas this year........It's SO much better watching the game when you know they won (or you can stream it while in your workshop and not pay 100% attention to the horror...)

  10. Yup. The cost of the Cardinals or Blues or whatever teams' rights fees were spread across everyone in that cable market. Now it is spread across the people who care enough to pay for it. I also wonder how much the acceleration of this trend effects Big East expansion. 2013 it was about market size and what could get more money for FS1....

  11. Recording the game tonight due to a father daughter dance I will be attending from 6:30-8:30. Debating whether or not when I get home I should avoid this board and just watch the game, or log onto Billikens.com and if the last post in GDT is from BC1764 or morejobs I can save myself 2 hours.

  14. Colombians are extremely friendly. But you may be aware that there is some violence/crime here. Maybe you've seen Narcos or something. I've been to Colombian professional Soccer (4x) the derby between Millionarios (my team) and Santa Fe can be dangerous. Their home pitch is in the same stadium El Campin in Bogota. Whoever is the away team has the corner section dedicated and there is a DMZ dead space between the fans with rows of police. At the end of the games they let the visiting fans leave the stadium first then the home fans can leave 30 minutes after. At a normal game no metal objects are allowed inside, they will take your belt. No alcohol is sold inside. Everyone gets a police pat down or 2 on the way in. Actually the highlight of the game can be the pat down from the Colombian Policia. They have their own IG page for those into that look up "policias_exoticas" you're welcome.

  15. Yeah Buck and Costas both bowed out early, but that was not surprising. Why would either want the grind of a 162 schedule at their ages and with their backgrounds.

After a cursed season thus far, winning at Belk could exercise many demons. Carter highlights how despite SLU's statistical advantage and apparent standing as favorites, no stats will provide many comfort. 18. This probably ends with the leagues owning their rights and selling directly to customers. They will miss the guaranteed payouts that RSN’s gave to teams, but the customers simply won’t pay the prices to give them enough money to pay those and still make a profit. Sinclair discovered that enough people wouldn’t pay.

  20. Now If we can get Okoro to gently whisper into Mennenga's ear right before tipoff "Are you a triangle 'cause you acuuuute" we'll be well on our way to a double digit victory at Blahhhk "Arena"

  23. Maybe the best way to get rid of the soap opera and start operating like a business focused on the on-field product is to get rid of the nepotistic club that has been running the program. Too much nonsense lately. This generation can't be squandered. It was time to clean house.

  29. I think with a 2 pt spread , everyone should be a little nervous. Just keep in mind we are the better team and we are favored. Dav will come out and play a slow plodding, low scoring game...by design. One...because they think that is their best chance to win....and two... to try and throw us off. The third reason is they play a 7 man lineup and don't have the horses to go at a quick pace. I would like to see us play up tempo to wear them down and to throw their rhythm off. Some quick ball movement with some fast breaks. I mentioned in the opening post, I wanted to see us get 8 fast break points. That will be a sign that things are trending our way. If we play our game ...we win.
