  5. I've had season tickets since 2018 I think. My kids' YOBs are '12, '15, and '17. If you carry a kid in, they don't charge you. We're in Section 210. $300 total for 3 season tickets. Very much worth it. We go to about 70% of home games.

  6. Agree 100%. Ford is not going anywhere IMO thank the Lord! He is in his 7th season. He started with a horrible roster and no way to quick fix it (no transfer portal with immediate eligibilty). He has a scandal, not his fault, that screws up two more seasons. Then he has covid that maybe robbed him of an NCAA bid (no NCAA Tournament in 2020). The next year the team goes 14-7 losing like 10 games from the schedule to covid. Some on this Board forget these facts, or want to ignore them. These situations screwed up the opportunity to dance in 4 of Ford's 6 completed seasons. Yes, the team could dance in year 7, this year. I am thrilled with Ford. He has this program going 100% in the right direction. It's only going to get better. Let's not screw it up with another coaching change. Luckily SLU ADMINISTRATION is making the coaching decision, not a bunch of clueless Billiken Board posters!!!

  7. I guess Im one of the few that think Yuri did the right thing by exploring his options. He did just what he should have done, then he made a decision to stay. H made a decision to leave a school. Is that different because he left a different school and came here?

  8. Regarding coaching, we need to be thinking about it with the new NIL reality in mind. Take the $2.5mil we are paying Ford and hire a new coach for $1mil, then use the other $1.5mil to pay players. Hell Ford can stay if he’s ok with the new salary. Pay the coach bonuses based on tourney appearances/performance.

  9. As far as I am concerned, the NCAA wasted their money developing the NET ranking system. Unless, of course, their objective was to boost members of the Power conferences, in which case well done.

  10. I'm probably beating a dead horse, but I can't get over how much of a joke the NET rankings are. The Bradley Braves at ranked 10 points higher than the Saint Louis Billikens. I want to hear a possible logical explanation that says Bradley's resume can even be brought up in the same sentence as ours.

  12. My favorite book in college was 'How to Lie with Statistics". The Jimerson discussion depends entirely on your frame of reference. For example, Mr. Jimerson is shooting 36.8% from the arc for the season. This same Mr. Jimerson is shooting 40.0% from the arc in A10 conference play. Doesn't that indicate he is improving this season? Pick your reference, and you can make any point you want to.

  13. I would encourage everyone to go read some of the other A10 message boards. Pretty sure you can find a "fire the head coach" thread on almost all of them. Check out UD Pride and the comments on Coach Grant. I will also point out that we have two pretty good examples of what the first year looks like at our level after making a change right here in our very own league. Arguably Frank Martin and Archie Miller both have better resumes than TF. Both have winning records in the NCAA tournament and Martin has a Final 4 and Archie an Elite 8. Both are really struggling this year in a down year for the league. Yes, there are success stories of first year coaches, but making a change has risks. And the season isn't over. Some of those first year coaching stories will change over the next 6 weeks.

  16. I would be much more patient and understanding during a rebuild season than I am during an underachieving season. Look, I get why people want to keep Ford around I get wanting to move on from Ford. What I don’t get is thinking that either of these opinions are crazy or makes you less of a fan. To not admit Ford has done good things is wrong. To not think his seat should be getting warm is just as wrong.

  17. This gets referenced quite a bit on the board and usually portrayed as a complete failure. No NCAA Tourney runs to his credit, so I think that's a fair criticism, but I think his tenure should be looked at in the context of OSU bball history. Ford made the Tourney 5 times in 8 seasons. In the 10 seasons sandwiched around the Ford era, the 3 preceding him and the last 7 seasons following him, OSU has only made the Tourney twice in those 10 seasons. Eddie Sutton had a great run, and he's considered one of the all-time greats, but prior to that, you'd have to go back to Hank Iba in the 1950s during the stone ages of college hoops to see any notable success. In the thirty years prior to Eddie Sutton's arrival (1960-1990), OSU only made the tournament TWICE. That level of futility surprised me. Yes OSU is in a P5 conference, but I don't think it's that great of a job compared to its peers. The state of Oklahoma does not produce a ton of great bball talent and even then, they are in the shadow of OU. Also, they are over-shadowed by Kansas to the East, and to the South, there are a number of strong programs in the state of Texas they have to compete with. So I don't think we should take it as gospel when OSU fans cast the Ford era is a complete failure (delusional fans from a state school, imagine that). That program is not all that and I think some context matters when evaluating Ford's tenure at OSU. He is clearly the second most successful coach that program has had in the last 50 plus seasons.

  18. General Outlook Nice win at LaS....but because we did what we were supposed to do (within 3 pts) against a so-so team...we don't gain any ground in the numbers. We will be favored in the next 4 games with this game being the toughest of the next 4. We will be able to make up some ground in these games particularly if we exceed the spread ...and some extra ground if we exceed the spread by 10. Looking forward, the games will be come more difficult not just because of better competition or rivalries or jockeying for position in the A-10 tourney...it will happen because we are in 1st (or the top 4)...teams will be gunning for us. Hopefully that will raise our level of play too. Game Outlook I am sure some on the Board will be surprised by the 2 pt spread thinking that Dav is a below 500 team. But Dav is a B- team (we remain at B+) and they are difficult to beat at home. Let's confuse things a bit more. When I asked the computer ...How good is Davidson? The answer is... better than UMass but worse than GM. What does that mean for the Bills...They are not a team to be taking lightly. They will try to slow the game down...They think the lower the score the better chance they will have to win...They have not scored more than 65 pts in the last 4 games...by design. They have lost 3 of those 4 games but they were all close. We can shake them up with some fast breaks. We are the better team...we will need to bring our A game like we have the last few games. If we play at the level we have been, we will win this game......easily. Report Card.... 3 categories up ...2 down. Another clean Card (no Ds or Fs)...as long as we have a "clean Card " we will be favored in most of the rest of the games. While opponent PPG has improved, it is still the weakest part of the Card. I think this is the most important stat on the sheet for the rest of the season. Further, if we can raise that grade from C- to C ...I would then say not only will we be favored for most of the rest of the games BUT we would actually win most of the rest of the games. What would it take to get to C....giving up less than 70 pts a game. We have to play with a purpose...not just trying to outscore them or keep them from getting open shots...We need the discipline to hold them under 70...What I mean by that is ...if we are leading with just a few min left in the game by say 85 -68...instead of trying to get to 90 or stalling the game out...we need to keep them from getting 70...the mind set / discipline /focus to always be playing defense with a specific number in mind. Let's look at the report card... ...................SLU......................Dav........................SLU.............................Dav .................................OFF..........................................................DEF............. Mennega is their main man...he can shoot from anywhere and will if you let him. Outside of him, Loyer is their go to guard. They have 2 other guards if Loyer can't shoot....Watson and Huffman who can do some damage. WWN2D2W...Make the slash...46/35/75...Hold their top 3 scorers (Mennega and 2 of their top 3 guards) to a combined 34pts which should allow us to keep them under 70 pts....Match them on TOs...Beat them on the boards by double digits....score at least 8 fast break pts....Don't give them free pts by fouling Loyer or Skogman. Bottom line....Play the 1st minute like the last minute in a tied game. Keep the momentum going and roll over the Cats.

  20. You really have issues. I never blamed the fall of the season on Jimerson, but I did say his shooting played a huge part. However, despite clear facts, you still make excuses for him and put the blame on Ford. He didn’t have a bad game or 2. Can you count? You do realize Jimerson isn’t from Belleville right?

  24. Got one just a little younger. Week day games are extremely difficult. I have 3 viable options. 1. Find a sitter 2. leave the wife at home 3. watch on TV 1. Can be hard to do on a Wednesday. 2. The wife would never tell me not to go to a game but that’s something I don’t want to take advantage of. 3. Sometimes it’s just easier especially when the alarm goes off at 5 AM. Plus when I skip a game to “help put the baby to sleep” the wife is EXTRA happy with me!

  25. Not to get on Jimerson as I think he is one of our most important players but I also think his minutes should be trimmed. Last game he played 38 minutes. We ***** about the minutes TJ and Parker get. Well this is where I would find some of those minutes. While I am at it I would give Hughes a few of Yuri's .

  27. That's with shooting 48% after the UMass game. Not a coincidence we haven't lost since then - it has skyrocketed the last few games. He shot 22% from Iona through UMass. This period in the season ruined our at-large chances. Like I said, it is not a coincidence.

  28. count me out on moser. he will be overpriced considering his only claim to fame is about a 2 year run at loyola. he hasnt really been successful beyond that. i recall the few games he subbed for rickma back in the day, his coaching moves would make you consider travis ford the next coming of john wooden.

  31. Yeah, there are enough podcasts out there that you could spend 24 hours per day watching. Here is tight, 20 minute one, from the Bills announcer Rammer. (He had the flu on Monday, hence he was not on the Coach's Show.) Lot of talk on Sincere Parker, Perkins and Okoro. Interesting discussion (around 13 min in) on the somewhat new Slip and Roll the team is running, which has lead to an increase of assists from particularly Jimerson. The extra passes from anyone not named Collins has helped the offense become less stagnant. Team isn't standing and watching as much.
