  1. Gibson Jimerson, junior in International Business, and Martin Linssen, graduate in MBA program, were the two men's TeamBlue members to be honored by receiving Straight A's during the spring 2021 and/or fall 2021 semester. https://slubillikens.com/news/2022/5/11/billiken-athletics-billikens-faculty-staff-recognized-at-annual-straight-a-celebration.aspx Earlier this spring Jimerson, along with Fred Thatch, was honored by the Atlantic 10. Jimerson with a cumulative GPA above 3.9, was also selected as the recipient of a 2022 DI-AAA ADA postgraduate scholarship and will receive $5,000 toward his postgraduate studies. Jimerson and Thatch were the only set of teammates voted to the 12-person Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association Scholar-Athlete Team.

  2. We're just bored. There are scores of backup big men in the portal. It may take months to find a match, but it will happen.

  3. Thought it appropriate to give this thread a bump, given today marks one year since Coach Stuen passed. Keep the Stuen and Ford families in your thoughts.

  4. There are approximately 1600 players in the portal. A lot of them are difference makers and will be stars in their conference where ever they wind up playing. Are they all stars?...No ...But do we need 1600 players? ...again , no. We just need 2 or 3 players out of the 1600. See the link below for a discussion about availability and a few under the radar stars. https://247sports.com/LongFormArticle/College-basketball-transfer-portal-Best-available-players-outside-of-top-100-rankings-187402636/ Not satisfied ...still on edge....Here is the whole list of players...This list is about 3 weeks old but it is still pretty accurate. https://watchstadium.com/every-player-in-the-2022-college-basketball-transfer-portal-04-21-2022/#:~:text=Right now there are more than 1%2C400 scholarship players in the portal.

  7. Julia and SLU both made announcements today about her transfer to SLU. https://twitter.com/sluwsoccer/status/1524832506188599296?s=21&t=rjwWrohTNTYFpQNKCAoXSg I can add that Julia had a nice Spring season playing Spring Cup. She had two goals in their game vs Ball State. Spring Cup was a new round robin competition this Spring season that included: Kentucky, Louisville, Dayton, Xavier, Ball State, Cincinnati. She’ll be a nice, attacking third addition, of someone who can finish, create, and, who plays well off of the ball.

  8. Technically speaking. But she was Tilletts assistant at Longwood before CSU.

  9. I've given up on the national recruiting services in the age of covid. Most of the big states have their own recruiting service so those rankings are more reliable. Puryear is ranked 15 in the state of Texas according to the leading Texas recruiting service. Based on rankings in prior years, that translates to a top 150 player. https://texasbasketballreview.com/list/class-of-2024/

  10. We are the Saint Louis TeamBlues now. Look for a mascot rebrand soon. Promises to be even scarier than the current one.

  12. Bradford did nothing for a 14 and 17 team that was next to last in the Big 12. About 15 mpg and 3.3 ppg. No tears here but we need some answers and signings soon.

  16. Hargrove needs to add to his game something besides threes and dunks, he doesnt handle the ball well, rebound and his mid range game is lacking. His athleticism is off the charts, his basketball skills are not

  20. There hasn't been a ton of basketball the past couple weeks but we do touch on A10 expansion, the February non-conference game proposal, Crespin, and a few other things. We also talk about Tillett's Longwood additions and that was before another one today. Baseball heading into the final stretch, softball getting cold at the wrong time, new chess center, wrapping up tennis for the year. But the track interview is the real draw in this one. Both of them are impressive, probably the best athlete we have on the men's and women's sides, respectively. SLU didn't have track when I was on campus so their experience was all new to me. Really interesting stuff, be sure and check it out.

  21. When I was in training I knew an orthopedic surgeon that was depressed and frustrated with his life and fate. He was one of two kids, he went to med school and was "our son the Dr" to his family, the other one played the guitar and the family thought he was a bum. The guitar player, I forgot who he was, made all kinds of money, and the roles reversed. "Our son the Dr." became the forgotten kid in the family. He hated it. Money can and does buy family approval and "love."

  22. If you have never seen a Capoeira exhibition, you should check this out. Capoeira is the Brazilian brand of martial arts. It is different from anything else you have ever seen, except this stuff is for real and not computer generated on green screens (as in the movies). From time to time there have been Karate vs Capoeira matches in St. Louis, the Brazilians are hard to stop. The video is from the European games of 2018, at the very end of the video there is an exhibit fight between two black belts (not real, but you get the idea). So, this is a taste of Capoeira for you all:
