  5. Posted in case anyone missed this as it goes in to effect for the Auburn game. On December 9, 2021, Saint Louis University issued a policy that requires attendees of all upcoming events at Chaifetz Arena to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (at least two weeks out from final dose) or proof of a negative COVID-19 test result received within 72 hours of the respective event. The policy takes effect on December 18, 2021. For Saint Louis University’s full announcement, click here. Guests must provide one of the following upon entry: · An official, government-issued vaccination card (physical or mobile image accepted) listing the fan's name and date the last dose was administered along with a matching photo ID. *If children between the ages of 12-17 do not have a photo ID, a parent or guardian will be required to verify their identity. · A printed or digital negative COVID-19 PCR or rapid antigen test administered by a healthcare professional or pharmacy provider within 72 hours of the event that includes the fan's name and date of test along with a matching photo ID. Self-administered tests will not be accepted. · Children under the age of 12 are exempt from this policy but they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who meets the vaccination or negative test requirement. Chaifetz Arena will release more information soon on how ticket-holders of all upcoming events can securely submit vaccination or negative test documentation in advance of their respective event. In addition to these new protocols, all attendees over the age of 2 at Chaifetz Arena must continue wearing their face masks while indoors. A face mask may be removed for a brief period of time to eat or take a drink of a beverage, but when finished, attendees are expected to return their face mask to cover their nose and mouth.

  6. The most important question is can he dunk, and at 7' we'll assume he can. So I think it's fair to go next level with him ... can he dunk over a trash can?

  7. great post. <Not even Yurimania can assist himself> In a way he did, his owning the sloppy play that contributed to the 2 game losing streak. May be most important part of the season.

  9. Why did they have a game against a couple of CYC schools - Sacred Heart v. Pine Manor at the top of the list? The real record is 22, so close for Yuri. Imagine how many assists he would have if Perk were playing this year.

  10. Not to jack @HoosierPal's thread but this probably makes more sense here than anywhere else. I'm continuing the tradition of periodically updating the current team's chase of the record books throughout the season. The hardest part this season is that it's not 100% clear which class people should be classified in, so I'm going with what the roster says for this season. I'm a little late starting it this year, but here's where we stand through 11 games: Marten Linssen has a FG% of .603, which would put him fifth all-time in a season and first among seniors. His FT% of .813 is a little outside the top 10 for seniors, needing to get to .832 (Kevin Lisch). He has 12 blocked shots and needs to get to 27 to tie for tenth (Justin Tatum, Jamal Johnson). DeAndre Jones is shooting .429 from 3, which would be good for fourth all-time for seniors and tied for eighth overall. His .917 from the FT line would be second all-time for a season. He needs to reach 50 attempts to make either list, and he's currently on pace to do so for 3-pointers but not FTs. Francis Okoro is currently .527 from the field, a little short of the junior FG% top ten. His .773 FT% is also a bit shy of the .803 needed for junior FT%. He's also on pace to be short of the total rebounding and rebounding average lists. However, he has 16 blocks through 11 games and only needs to reach 27 blocks to tie Kenny Brown for tenth among juniors. Fred Thatch is .560 from the field, which would be tied with Anthony Bonner for fifth all time among juniors. He has 14 steals and needs to reach 45 (Anthony Drejaj) to reach the junior top ten, so he's very close to the pace he needs. Rashad Williams is shooting .375 from 3, just shy of where he needs to be (.385) to tie Lisch and Davell Roby for ninth for juniors. He needs to get to 50 attempts, too. Brandon Courtney is not in the mix for any junior records. Yuri Collins now has 374 career assists and is seventh all-time. The next guy to pass is LaTodd Johnson (400). He owns the freshman assist record (171) and his 116 in a shortened season last year are fifth among sophomores. The sophomore record is 142 (Johnson), a mark he should pass easily this season, as he already has 87. His 19 assists vs. BC gave him the all-time single game record, passing Jim Roder's 18. He has 24 steals this season and needs to reach 39 to tie Jordair Jett for tenth for sophomores. His FT% of .784 is currently tenth for sophomores. Terrence Hargrove is shooting .423 from three, which is on pace to be third place among sophomores. He has 6 blocks and needs to get to 19 to tie Tommie Liddell and Matt Baniak on the sophomore top ten list. Gibson Jimerson is averaging 16.7 PPG in his third freshman season, which would put him second behind only Larry Hughes for freshman scoring average. He's also on pace to finish second behind Hughes (670) in total points. He's already second in freshman three-point field goal percentage at .429, which is also good for eighth on the all-class list, and his .407 clip this year would be good for fifth on the freshman list. His 37 three-pointers last season tied him with Anthony Drejaj and Marcus Bartley for ninth among freshmen and he already has 24 this season. His .875 FT% would be a freshman record and fifth overall for a season. Jordan Nesbitt is averaging 9.5 PPG, a little outside the freshman top ten; he needs to reach 11.0 PPG to tie Kwamain Mitchell. He has 105 points and needs 321 to tie Lisch and Milik Yarbrough for ninth among freshmen. His rebounding numbers (5.1 RPG, 51 total) are also just shy of the pace he needs (5.6 RPG, 162) for the class top ten, as well. His .368 3P% is barely behind Scott Highmark's tenth place mark of .369. He has 12 steals and needs to hit 33 (Carlos McCauley) for 10th. Lassina Traore has a FG% of .722, which would be an all-class record for a season if he reached 100 attempts. But he stands at 18, well off pace. He would also need to play a lot more to be in the mix for any rebounding marks. Markhi Strickland is currently .571 from the field, which would be good for fourth all-time among freshman, but he has the same issue as Traore - 14 FGA. Andre Lorentsson is a perfect 1.000 from the field in only three field goal attempts. Javonte Perkins is out for the season. After two seasons at SLU, he is tied for 10th all time in scoring average (15.9) with Bill Morris. He has 825 career points and will easily make it into the 1,000-point club if he returns next season. His .866 FT% last season is good for sixth all time in a season and fourth for seniors.

  11. Schasz, you may be a bit pessimistic here, look at the comparative game stats for both teams. Auburn is better than us in TO 12.1% vs 16%, Blocks 6.9 vs 3.6, Steals 10.8 vs 7.5. We beat them in FTA/FGA 0.417 vs 0.281. In the rest of the stats we are pretty close to one another. I am not saying it will be an easy game, I am saying that if we play hard, the whole game including the last 5 minutes, we certainly can win.

  12. I was checking the prior games played by Auburn this year, they are 8-1. Connecticut beat then, and most of the other games were won by Auburn by a significant number of points, a good number of these games were against teams in the top 100 (TR). The closest win they have had this year was againt South Florida which they won by 6 pts. S. Florida is ranked at 245 and has a record this year of 3-4. Does anyone doubt that we can play better than S. Florida? We can win this game.
