  1. Yes, I agree - Goodwin, Has, and Perkins should all be vaccinated immediately.

  3. Hughes is up to 16.1 PPG after last night's performance but his current slashline as listed on the P-D's stats page is incorrect because they're showing all of his makes from last night and none of the overall attempt numbers. So the numerator has been updated but not the denominator, making his percentages for the season look better than they are. This could update in the next few days - just pointing that out so there isn't any confusion based on this. He was at .345/.279/.765 heading into last night's game. He definitely helped his averages but he's not truly at .471/.419/.725 now (although I think the FT percentage is correct; they show him at 3-6 last night). By the way, it can be true that Hughes has not been shooting well from the perimeter, needs to expand his offensive game, has a good looking shot, and has higher potential than most of his local 2022 peers. None of these statements are in conflict with one another.

  4. sometimes stats dont tell the whole story. i remember spoon telling me that larry senior was going to be a better player at every level because he wouldnt garner as much focus as he did at previous levels. you watch junior shoot, that is a pure shot. he is a shooter. i dont care what the stats are saying. and as 3 star says, maybe it is just a matter of shot selection, but that might be because he feels the need to be the man and like 3 star says, take tougher shots. i see big things for this kid. i dont care what the stats say

  5. Hughes is growing into his body, growing into his role as a scorer and growing into his athleticism. He has the tools to be a plus shooter and defender. And personally I do place some value of coming from a basketball family and having an NBA father like he does. He is a classic case of a player who could be a late bloomer and I would take him at SLU in any class, even if his dad were not a former Billiken.

  6. We're the only school that has offered Martin. If you ask a kid which schools are recruiting him the hardest he will often tell you about his most recent interest, regardless of whether they've offered.

  9. It wasn't the posters here saying that. It was the stats.

  11. It’s almost like 2 different seasons. We finished the 2020 season 7-1 and are about to start the 2021 season

  14. I will be watching Hughes closely this Friday, but to this point he doesn't strike me as a high major player. Maybe part of that is because he is so thin and my opinion would be different if he matured physically. I find myself really liking Martin, but I always question guys who are that small. Looking at the box scores from their first 4 games (no shooting stats from their game last night, so that would certainly improve these stats), Hughes attempted more 3s than 2s and shot 28% overall (17.4% from 3) with 18 of 46 points coming from the free throw line where he shot 75%. Again, that does not include last night's game, but in his first 4 games he only shot >20% in one of those games (hit 7/12 shots against St. Mary's) and in his 20 point effort against Confluence 13 of those were at the line. @3star_recruit is their A team not playing locally this season?
