  1. Frank also said that 6'9" 240 lb Tarris Reed sophomore from Chaminade was right behind the bench Friday.

  2. On Frank's show today, he reiterated that SLU loves Nesbitt and Kern and it sounds like they are the priority for the 2021 class. Tony Irons was also on the show today. He said that Kern is a huge fan of SLU. He has attended a lot of games this year and even checks the SLU score when they're on the road.

  3. I don’t get the McKinney interest by this board. The kid couldn’t play at a very mediocre Missouri. It wasn’t like he was playing behind a bunch of All Americans. We don’t need whatever role he might play.

  4. You are on a SLU message board. Where most of us are SLU fans. You can get lost now though.

  5. We don't have anyone named Jimmerson.

  6. Martin said he wasn't playing because he still needed to learn to play better defense and learn to play with more control, two common issues with freshmen. On top of that Mizzou's only strength are at the 1 and 2 position's. I dont think Mckinney is some stud or anything, and I trust Ford has a good clue as to if he can stay at the D1 level. If ford wants him, Im all for it.

  7. Not very good examples. Jimmer played over 4 seasons in the NBA. He plays in Greece now. Grayson Allen played for Utah Jazz last year, and is averaging 17 min and 7 pt/gm for Memphis Grizzlies this year. Willie Reed did OK in the NBA for a few years too. 5 or 6 potential NBA players may be a stretch. But to think at least one current Billiken has a shot is not unreasonable.

  9. Before we get to the headline...a disappointing loss for The Bills at Dayton but nonetheless a great basketball game. 13th rated Dayton trailing in the final second of OT throws up a prayer and with only 1 chance in 3 of making it, they sink it for the win. That is as close to winning a game as you can get without winning it. The Bills actually outplayed them most of the game....No shame here...If you need more post game analysis, see the Dayton spread thread post game post. On to Davidson...so what is with the headline?? I didn't want to declare a winner for this game in the headline as I know there are some people on the board who only read the headline. This is one of the most difficult games to handicap. On the surface both teams are a B...a close game...teams are very even with the spread showing Dav by 3, taking the game on the home field advantage. But wait, there is more....The Bills are trending at B+ while the Wildcats are fading at C....This sets up a different spread which shows Bills by 5. Thus , the reason there is no winner listed in the headline. I think most handicappers will be going with Dav by 3....For those that like to wager , there may be an opportunity here... To see what is going on , let's start with the injury report before the report card. Injury report... Czerapowitz...1/10/20...Out indefinitely...Hip injury Frampton........1/8/20...out for the season...personal leave of absence Prichett...1/16/20...out for the season...after a knee scope, he will likely miss the rest of the season Thatch...1/8/20....out indefinitely...no change Now let's look at the report card.... ..............................SLU...........................Dav.................................................................SLU...............................Dav ................................................OFF.....................................................................................................DEF............... PPG.........................C+...............................C-................................................................B......................................C+ FG%.........................C+...............................C+............................................................ ..B+.....................................D 3Pt%........................D+..............................B--................................................................D+......................................C- FT%.........................F-. 2nd worst ITN.......A... ............................................................................................... Reb.........................A..................................F.................................................................C.......................................B OFF Rebs = total rebs...DEF rebs = opp reb Bills Offensive reb....A+....9th ITN....up Change from last game (UP means improvement ...Down means worse)....UP ....no change.......... DOWN......3P def Top 100 ITN Stls....Goodwin ...31st.....down Assts...Y Collins....38th.....down Rebs...Goodwin..15th.....French...16th.....unchanged and up Off Reb....French ...16th...Goodwin...60th Def reb...Goodwin ...18th...French...42nd Blks.....French....16th...unchanged FT%...C Collins...49th Remember, this report card is based on a full season and doesn't fully reflect the fading situation of Dav. WWN2D2W....Stop Grady...hold him to 12 pts....Jones is their 3pt guy...hold him to 35%......we are one of the best rebounding teams...they are one of the worst...dominate the boards by double figures....Match them in TOs...stay around 11....Hold them to 60 pts. The closer to 60, the better are chances of winning....Stay away from fouling them...especially C Collins..88.4%...and Lee 86.7%. Bottom line...We should take this game...but this is far from a gimme...Dav may be down but they are not out...they have just enough life left to rise up and swat us down....We need to not make unforced errors . Dav doesn't TO the ball much ...so neither can we. We need to draw fouls to get our FTA up and neutralize their FT advantage....we miss a lot but we don't miss them all....We need to beat them on FTM. Did I mention we need to dominate the boards...if the rebs are close then that is a bad sign. They have a weak defense...let's take advantage of that. This game is our game to win...Let's get back on the winning track.

  10. Weber has gotten his last STL recruit. He can move on unless it's someone we have no interest in.

  11. This is probably the only time since I've paid attention to Bracketology that a team has lost a game while being listed as "out" and got "in" afterward. What a wild year of basketball.

  13. no one though blake ahearn would spend a minute in the nba, but he did. players develop nba rosters sometime need a niche player at the end of the bench. likely to happen? maybe not. could it happen, absolutely

  14. ahh so you're talking about staying in the NBA, something very difficult to do. Most on here are talking about getting a shot. This could mean just playing 1 minutes of the whole career or just making the roster.

  15. His FT stroke has always looked very smooth. He needs to get to the line more often.

  16. Treveon Graham his freshman year literally contradicts every single point you made. He played less than half the game, Shot poorly, a only scored like 7pts a game and his team didn’t go undefeated. He is now playing in the NBA. you’re welcome to believe no one from this team will make the NBA, but your reasoning is like a freshman year Treveon Graham jumper...off the mark

  17. One other thought, Jimmy Bell may have a legit shot. Obviously a ton of work to do, i.e. Play more aggressively, a little jumper, a little hook, more strength and conditioning, but he's got the NBA body and height.

  18. SLU comes within a tenth of a second of beating Dayton and someone is equating Ford to Barry Odom? Ford has the 300th least experienced team out of the 353 Division I teams...for decent chunks of the game freshman like Bell and Hargrove defending America NBA lotto pick. Other than their first game of the year, every single Dayton win up until this one was by double digits....their only losses were to two Top 25 teams, both in OT. SLU has a NET ranking of 54, in the dance conversation. This is arguably the best coaching job of any SLU coach in the past 40 years and he’s being labeled the next Barry Odom.

  20. Perkins has a much greater shot than Goodwin. He had two superb years of JUCO and has built with 1/2 of a successful season in D-1. He’s a loooong shot with another 1 1/2 years to grow his game. The key to Goodwin’s game is rebounds and put backs. Those would all disappear in the NBA. Average ball handler at best. Horrible free throw shooter. No chance at the NBA. 0% shot. Great kid and young man and will be an average Player overseas. Absolutely no way to give an opinion on Jimmerson having only played 10 games of college basketball. Ask me in 3 years. BYW, in case it’s brought up, 0% for French. With his style of game at 6’7” he’d get destroyed in the NBA with all interior players between 6’9” -7’0” tall.

  21. Look up Jimmer Ferdette is in China averaging 40 points per game and can’t break the NBA! Grayson Allen is in the G League. He can’t crack the G league. I was likely a Billiken fan before you were born. Doesn’t keep me from going to fairy tale land. This stuff blows my mind!

  23. Just so we know ithis thread has talked about players going to the NBA on this team that aren’t even playing half a game, have only played a total of 10 D-1 games, can’t hit the side of a barn 15 feet from the basket, etc. There is no one on this team going to the NBA!!! They wouldn’t be at St Louis playing SIUC and Eastern Washington if they were. We would be 18-0 if any of these guys were that good I wish they were hit they are not! Not even close!

  24. I guess we can wait until draft day. There is a difference between being a huge Billiken fan being blind to facts. Watch the NBA zone night and tell me Goodwin can play in the NBA. Please. Bess is 6’6” tall, arguably one of the top defenders in the country, shoots 80% from the line, developed a nice jumper and he can’t make it. Did you get see a parent have a pretty daughter and dream up she could be Ms USA or a high school kid hit 400 in baseball and his parents say he’s going to the major leagues. Don’t get caught up in emotion. We’ve people saying Bell could make it in the NBA and he’s played one game over 20 minutes. Willie Reed is not in the NBA and he’s score break Wilt C. record every night. Have you ever seen Marquee Perry or Kevin Lisch???? I have and Never ever for a look. Please.
