  1. Past hour
  2. Not sure. I would need to see their stats coming out of high school to make any type of guess. I know stats don’t tell the entire story but sometimes it’s all I have.
  3. Not a stretch 4, but looks like he has legit power forward size, listed at 6' 9" 221. Hasn't played much for Miami, but was highly regarded out of high school. While he wouldn’t stretch the floor, if you have an inside guy who requires a double team, it leaves an open shooter on the perimeter. It depends on how he develops. I'm sure Schertz has explained how he fits.
  4. Question...Would Avila have moved the needle for you a couple of years ago? How about Swope a couple of years ago...a 5' 10" 170lb player? Trust the process.
  5. I’ll take a shot on 4 star top 100 kid that played AAU ball with Avila.
  6. I like it. Big man who played 20+ games for an ACC team and also played in the elite 8 and final four 2 seasons ago. Not a superstar but I'm a fan
  7. I’m ok with HCJS taking a few shots on some former highly ranked recruits transferring down a level. You never know if they’re gonna be Javon Bess or Ash Yacoubou. But worth the occasional shot.
  8. In Schertz we trust but on paper this guy doesn’t move the needle. That said lots of spots to fill and 6’8 depth is never a bad thing.
  9. Today
  10. Let’s get this Tuesday started off right. Former top 100 recruit, Whitney Young in Chicago grad.
  11. You ever ask a girl out on a date and then realized that it wasn't going to work out during the date?
  12. Did he get two NILs, one for basketball, and one for football?
  13. He might be doing some similar things to when he was here, but he's doing them at a completely different level. People who defend the likes of LeBron James and grab an outsized number of boards among entire teams of giants have improved their game dramatically from the A10 level. But yeah, he's definitely exceptional and not the norm.
  14. Could we retain Bradley Ezewiro and play him and Avila in the front court?
  15. Or I was wondering if it was he backs up the 5 and gets another 15ish minutes at the 4. It means he is an important role player and depth piece, but not featured. I don’t know at all. I will say I really wanted him and think he would’ve made us a better team.
  16. We have in the team 3 returning players that we have all seen play. The question here is not whether or not they can play, but how much they will improve under Schertz. Then we have the two from ISU both of who we recognize as key players with the Schertz system. Then we have Pikaar and McCottry, freshmen and totally unknown in terms of their play. I think that Schertz is likely to get the majority of the remaining players from the same unknown group of freshmen players. I doubt that he is going to pick a large number of well known players for this season, maybe one or two more tops. This will show, hopefully to our total satisfaction, just how good Schertz is at both selecting players, developing them in a short time and playing them. This is promises to be a very interesting season.
  17. I looked at Verbal Commits Transfers for the following; I don't know anything about the metric used to valuate each player. If you are curious about the metric, contact SBUnfurled. GW: Castro, 6'11" F Providence, Hansen 6'9" C Cornell, and Moss 6'3" PG William & Mary Loyola: DeLoach 6'9" F Georgia (12 yrs at VCU), Moore 6'3" PG Drexel, and Nwaokorie 6'7" F UC San Diego. You would need to get their stats from previous schools. The only one I am familiar with without looking anything up is DeLoach. First, he was on Schertz recruit list, and second he was pretty good at VCU. At Georgia he was a bench player.
  18. Johnell would give us a Natty chance
  19. Jimmy Bell, Jr is a dual sport athlete https://www.supertalk.fm/mississippi-state-basketballs-jimmy-bell-jr-to-join-football-program-for-spring-practice/?fbclid=IwAR2JJhbiX0b3SJwVkAtfVmGu9uqWxs9a-xfSdQ7QvIDOwxIqnQscsspL9Qk
  20. Haha exactly, though that would be pretty funny. “Hey Connor, look at all our cool $hit, too bad you’ll never get to enjoy it! Catch ya later” I do think there could have likely been a conversation around playing time/role that resulted in coach telling him he’s essentially Robbie’s backup and him deciding he’s looking for more.
  21. UK and and Arkansas love him, too.
  22. Why would we invite Turnbull to come to campus, give him a tour, and then tell him we are not interested? That makes no sense. I know everyone wants to think we can do no wrong right now, but I have to think he turned us down.
  23. I asked the computer who we should go after in the portal that fits Schertz's style.... The answer...FAU's Johnell Davis...6'4" 203 SG 18ppg...6.3rebs ...2.9 asts... 48/41/ 86 (2023-24) And here's the writeup....... Johnell Davis became an overnight sensation in the 2023 NCAA tournament when Florida Atlantic made their Cinderella run to the Final Four. This year, he took his game to entirely new levels. His scoring went from 13.8 points a night to 18.2 points per game. Once considered more of an athletic wing, Davis' guard skills have now made noticeable strides, as well. While he's still capable of attacking the rim, both in the open floor as well as slashing in the half-court, his 3-point shooting went from 35.7% on 1.2 makes per game in 2022-23 to 43.4% on 1.8 makes per game this year. He even started to show some ability to make plays off off ball-screens and saw his assist numbers almost double from 1.6 to 3.0. Simultaneously, Davis has furthered solidified himself as one of the best perimeter rebounders in the country at 6.3/game, in large part because he plays much bigger than his 6-foot-4 frame. That also enables him to be more switchable on the defensive end than other players his size, with his combination of length and strength. He has a high steal rate and has proven he can be a playmaker on that end of the floor.
  24. Who has Loyola and GW brought in that’s impressing everyone?
  25. Evansville is too big. Indiana St is more his speed
