They weren’t. They originally were, but got bumped. They were then placed in showcase games against UNLV and Cuse. They don’t need to replace St. Joes.

If the school needs the athletic department to save money, the AD makes a lot more than the former baseball coach.

So a 24 year old gets a D1 full assistant position with no coaching experience, no time as a grad assistant and no time as a DBO/video coordinator/recruiting coordinator?

The fact that he has apparently been fired without SLU giving cause makes it looked like he just pissed off someone. Whatever it is, it will come out eventually.

I’m not going to act like I have toured field hockey facilities across the country, but out of the those I have seen shade is not a feature.

Last night 9 freshmen or sophomores played 30 minutes or more.

Honestly, no program that is trying to win right now can fund a competitive team without donors. Facilities, staff salaries, paying players, etc gets expensive quick. Programs like SLU that don’t have a bunch of tourney credits and aren’t filling the house for every game just need to lean on them harder.

Big game tonight. I think this team has a chance to be pretty special. Way too early RPI ratings have Indiana at 5 and the Billikens come in at 3.

Lindenwood has a chance to move up in football if they can get some of the MO FCS level high school recruits and college transfers that won’t be going to MO St. anymore, but want to stay in/come back to Missouri. Probably a bigger opportunity for SEMO to further solidify their program, but there is an opening Lindenwood might be able to exploit that wasn’t there that long ago.

Everyone needs to find a way to contribute to the success of the program.

Has SLU MBB passed its peak?

From all outside indicators the basketball program is being run as smartly as it has ever been. I have been impressed with how they have identified what they believe are the undervalued assets in the player market (the 4 star recruits), are aggressively pursuing them and have the financial commitment necessary to make it work. It feels like the first time ever in my life where the men's basketball program is ahead of the curve when it comes to anything instead of starting at the position of playing catch up. That doesn't mean it is going to work for sure, but this is what needs to be attempted if the program is ever going to have a real breakthrough. -

People getting hired away is good thing. It means you have good people others want. It doesn't happen often in the SLU athletic department. -

In way too early RPI ratings SLU is at 17, USF is at 15 and SMU is at 127. The next two games are Seton Hall at 46 and Indiana at 26. That said, it is way too early to read anything really useful from these ratings.
