Freshman (2/7)

  1. Bartley or Reynolds may start out the gate or by conference play Yacoubou Agbeko (if he is back to 100%) Lancona Manning Have seen in McBroom in practice, pickup and games; have never seen him as a PG, and don't believe he is one. If he is starter it may mean we are struggling at that position. Bench: Crawford, McBroom, Jolly, Yarbrough or Toby, Glaze.
  2. Believe Bartley had an Oklahoma State offer
  3. Odd things ocurr in the summers when players all show up and begin scrimmaging against each other. Certain guys see the daily competition and start thinking its not the right place to get playing time. Most transfers ocurr right after the season, and then a few more happen in late June to middle of July.
  4. Speculation, nothing specific. My point is I don't believe he is a priority for SLU with the last scholly for next season. But Berry may feel this is a great fit for himself in 2015-2016. If so, walk-on.
  5. Agree that I don't feel Berry is the priority due to similarity to others on the roster and coming in, as well as having to wait a year for him. What we need more of are guys that can get shots for themselves and others. Yarbrough fits this need. Not the greatest athlete but can play at multiple speeds with a bit of size. Won't be shocked to see Berry pay his own way to SLU. Transfer list is very lengthy right now and a huge list of better prospects on that list. Interesting story might be who decides to leave? A lot of players vying for same positions that may have to sit behind someone in the same class or a year ahead or being an upperclassmen sitting behind an underclassmen.
  6. Don't worry FAKEINDIANS, we will see you in that rust bucket. Instead of solving your PG problems, you are stalking our board. You guys are a known entity and we are not. So when we get that W it will taste even better. Say hello to the cows for me.
  7. UMass is a safe 4th pick with Jabarie Hinds taking Chazz's spot. Hinds is an uptempo guard who should fit into Kellogg's system. My $$ is on same inconsistent UMass squad we have become accustomed to seeing. Have never been overly impressed with Hinds, so unless he is ready to share the ball I see him being a downgrade.
  8. Some know more Some know more then others, back to NCAA Tourney.....
  9. Yarbrough reminds me of a slightly bigger Kelan Martin. Trust the staff, but would be nice to get a 5th year guy or juco transfer. Either a point guard or 3 man.
  10. @Taj....... You are correct that sample size for freshmen was small but in the limited minutes they showed much more promise then you have given them credit for. Using Brimah from UConn to say he played in the same situation as Lancona and Agbeko, and he did better is erroneous. Brimah showed more because he played in 40 games, started 17 and averaged 16.2 minutes per game. Games begin in November and you will be just as wrong then as you are now in your assessment of this team.
  11. Can't believe thread is 6 pages and counting long. Just about any act that anyone does daily can be interpreted as good or bad. It all comes down to whom is talking about it and their life experience. The kids did what they did for a guy on the street. It's a new day life goes on.
  12. I can only go with what I have seen behind closed doors. Ash did average 2.9 but you couldnt expect him to average more if he wasn't given the opportunity to get on the floor as much, but when given time he scored, rebounded, and defended well. Also from what I know, his limited time was based more on personality differences rather then not being able to do what he does. Same with Agbeko I can only go with what I have seen. He is or will be a big time scorer. Why we didn't see him that much is as good of a question as why we didn't see Crawford yesterday. Only staff can answer that. But I can say Agbeko is on a different level offensively when I have seen the freshmen
  13. @billikenbill... Glad to inform you we should finish in the top 5 of A10 and better then 50% chance of making NCAA tournament. The team will be bigger and more athletic. Staff may not have used freshmen much outside of complimentary roles to maintain what had been built to work. But freshmen based on practice observation were the equal and in some cases better then some of the upperclassmen playing bulk of the minutes. You will be pleasantly surprised at what you see next season. Ash and Agbeko are stud offensive players whom should lead in points. Manning is arriving offensively and Tanner and Mike C will shoot long ball very well. McBroom is improving into a solid player. Point guard is a big question mark but hopefully one Reynolds is ahead of the game. Should be a pretty good offensive team; but will have to growup some defensively
  14. Good thing game is decided on the hardwood.
