  1. I don't have a radio at my desk, so I stream KFNS on my computer. It's really spotty today. Anyone know if the A-10 or St. Joe's has a streaming audio option? Thanks!
  2. Gang, The folks in Alumni Relations asked me to pass this along: McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon 19 E 7th Street On Fountain Square Three hours before every Billiken game throughout the tournament. Make it a point to meet there and rally with your fellow Billiken fans!
  3. Does Bryce have what it takes to follow Ian?
  4. The officiating was beyond goofy last night. That was about as pumped a crowd as I've seen at a Billikens game in a long time. A lot of fun. Even the guy who I often sit in front of was standing, and usually he freaks out if you stand up to cheer for a three pointer.
  5. I'm not on board with this. I like the Billiken where it is, in the heart of campus. If we want to do a replica, i'm all for it. I've often thought a great way to do a better job of tying SLU into grand center would be a KU-esque 'Billikens on parade' series of statues. A musial-esque statue of Easy Ed? Sure.
  6. It would make a pretty nice addition to simon rec....more court pace, more cardio theatres....
  7. 10,000 would be more than enough for Arena football or indoor soccer, but we won't get both. You have to figure anyone looking to buy the blues is also thinking NBA (especially Checketts) and that they'll have a team here within five years. The only thing that gets displaced by that tenant is some concerts and Steamers Soccer. So we can pick those up on our schedule and keep them from going to the Family arena. That means there isn't going to be room for an AFL team at Savvis, but we don't have a local owner and I doubt one is going to surface to put a team in a 10K facility. I don't count the rage because those leagues pop up and fold every other year. My only question in all of this is: what happens to West Pine? Saint Louis University Hall of Fame and museum? Intramural sports?
  8. not to mention a certain family that is the heir to a certain ralston purina fortune.
  9. I disagree with the premise that we need a state of the arts sports facility to lure competitive freshmen, as each year, we welcome a bigger, academically stronger class than we did the previous year. Would a final four sports team create some kind of insane demand to come to slu? I don't know.
  10. Anyone interested in doing a Billikens blog (or any other college basketball conference/team blog) should talk to Steve or Patrick over at the SportsCartel. I'd do it, but I don't have the time.
  11. As we head into a pure talent era of SLU hoops, I'll miss Anthony's scrappy play, and the occasional, goofy, 'this is for the peeps back in joisey' streetball play that causes the Brad Soderbergh 'what in the hell was that' face.
