Quality Is Job 1
If the creators of "Monsters, Inc." really wanted to come up with a critter that would haunt children's dreams, they would have included the Billiken. He's so utterly terrifying that he's amusing. Terrifying? Dana O'Neil must have been afraid of clowns, too, when she was little!
thetorch
She didn't really rank them. Since the Billiken is last I'll just assume we are number 1.
Cowboy
-terrifying? The Billiken? i guess the writer was referring to our defense and not our beloved mascot. The Billiken is simply the best mascot. Ever.
MB73
I still say they should make it meaner, fierce looking.
brianstl
I prefer the old school Billiken.
MB73
I prefer the old school Billiken. Agree, I'd rather they had kept the original than the current one.
willie
Maybe they should bring back Billy Lou?
BigMouthBilliken
Any pictures of the old school mascot you are referring to? I know of the old logo with the Billiken wearing a crown but I would like to see what the older models of the costume looked like
bonwich
If memory serves, the old mascot wasn't a costume as much as a papier-mâché head.
NextYearBill
does this help with tatum?
willie
The old billiken in my day was someone in a tuxedo wearing a paper-mâché head. The head looked like the statue in front of the Fez.
willie
I'm not sure how to describe BillyLou. This was a Ekker special. Kind of had a head that sort of looked like a Billiken on a Big Bird body. When Ekker was fired he took BillyLou with him.
brianstl
A lot like this, but in a tux.
hsmith19
If Pedobear had sex with a character from that movie The Purge, you'd get that Jr. Bills mascot. Any mascot lacking eyeballs is pretty much guaranteed to be creepy.
thetorch
The tuxedo mascot lasted until the early 80s. Late after a game as an extremely young child I saw the tuxedo guy take off the head, it scarred me for life.
kwyjibo
The last season of the tuxedo mascot was 84-85 I believe. The mascot that year was never sober particularly on the road (or so I heard as I attended home games but never road). I was offered the job for 85-86 but turned it down (and the eventual Billiken that year, Ron M. did a good job)
slu72
Still wish they'd bring back the Billiken decal from the 70s. Had one on my car and it never failed to solicit the inevitable, WTFs a Billiken?

WTH is a Billiken?"
