Recruit

Recruit (1/7)

  1. ive read post about us recruiting this kid from vashon. just wondering was he playing in vrs PB tonight or in the stands watching it? we need to go after tylers brother ben hansbrough instead i dont think i heard bobbys name once in the game and we offered him a scholarship?
  2. i never thought that he would go under fire after the year. the poll states what do you think will come first... i voted for brad getting the ax first because thats the way i feel this team is headed at this point. is he really doing any better than romar???
  3. well hes not playing on his school team im sure a lot of school will be turned off by this
  4. did anyone see the article in the post a few days ago. this might hurt his recruiting and slu might have a shot to get the big pf they need.
  5. I know it dunking is no where near our biggest concern right now but i do not remember the last time it has happened..... but i think it does show that our players arents being agressing enough(bigs) we can seem to make any 2-6footers so quit fooling around with the ball and throw it down big man THROW IT DOWN.
  6. >brehms, i agree polk isnt ready yet. but the point was that >we have garnered the three best athletes in the st louis >area for the most recent two recruiting classes. this >poster seems to imply that coach soderberg cant get athletes >to come to st louis, and i was pointing out that he already >has. > >now if anyone wants to point out we havent gotten any decent >inside players that i wont argue about Im guessing you consider luke meyer a better athlete than Xavier Price?
  7. i think the key to this season is with JJ and TF. If they are active i think they can help turn this year around
  8. I did the thing that no one else did on this board... I approached Jessie Leonard at a desmet basketball game vrs parkway south(my former high school)which wasnt hard to do if you go to any desmet games. I first asked him how Jared was doing and he said he should be back by the middle of January which is good news. Then I asked him how his grades were and he said the first quarter he had a 2.5 the best hes ever done at desmet. I was surprised with all this bad talk about Jared i expected him not to tell me or atleast tell me a lower gpa...me not being the best student at my years at south i consider 2.5 at a school like desmet for some1 who known struggle at academics is pretty darn good. Anyway then I mentioned to Jessie about this board and the comments made about his struggles, and I didn't have to tell him anything because he said he already knew. He said he regularly glances at the slu board at his work and saw the topic on the board. he said he relayed the information to Jared and they were disappointed in the remarks made. He gave me permission to post what he said on this site saying he doesn't want to sign on himself and post because of his sons recruitment by the school. October 27, 2004 Two Big Ten offers for 2006 Leonard -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jerry Meyer RivalsHoops.com Recruiting Analyst Jarod Leonard, one of the top performers at this past summer’s Nike Hoop Jamboree and the No. 105 ranked player in the class of 2006 had a breakout summer with the St. Louis Eagles AAU program. Now the 6-foot-6, 179-pound wing player from DeSmet Jesuit in Maryland, Mo., has two Big Ten offers. “I like Miami, Florida, North Carolina State, Virginia, USC, St. Louis, Missouri, Illinois, Purdue, Iowa, and Florida State,â€said Leonard. “Coaches from North Carolina State, Purdue, Illinois, Missouri, and St. Louis have been to my school to see me play.†Purdue, Iowa and St. Louis have all offered scholarships to Leonard. At this point, Leonard is only concerned about being able to contribute on the floor for his future college. "I just want to go in and know I can contribute,†he said. “I don’t want to sit on the bench. I feel I’ve worked hard and just want to be able to play." Rivals.com has this scouting report on Leonard based on his play at the Nike Hoop Jamboree: Leonard is a slasher and big time play maker. Not only can he attack the rim, but he can shoot it and pass it. He consistently knocked down 18-footers and will soon have consistent three point range. If he gains weight and keeps improving his skills, the athletic Leonard could one day make a living as a shooting guard. Leonard had a similar assessment of his game. "I think if I get more consistent on my three-point shot and get stronger, the skies the limit,†he said. Leonard, who has a 2.5 GPA, averaged 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists per game last season
  9. Looking at the future games I cant really pick out any and say the bills are def/going to win? I was disappointed again tonight but are players play hard. We just do not have the talent this year. But like ive said in earlier posts it cant get any uglier than this. SHOOT THE BALL LUKE!!
  10. I just want to be honest with my opinion... I think the bill will have a very rough season and a very rough month of December. Face it this team will not beat Iowa SIUC or Gonzaga. And with the way this team is playing now they wont beat Oakland or Dayton. This team will probably beat W Milwaukee but I thought we would defiantly beat Austin P and Oral R so I cant mark down any wins for sure for the bills. Im still supporting the team 100% but I think that its a rebuilding year for the bills ... give some of the younger players some pt in the games we are not going to win such as Iowa or the Zags. Wheres Luke Meyer we know he can score, give the kid a chance vrs elite talent in a tough enviornment, he couldnt do any worse on the offensive end that AD, put him in Brad!!!
