  1. There is a new video up on YouTube of one of Brett Jolly's recent games. He is more athletic and physically developed than I was led to expect. Looks like they may be posting some additional games. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoNDq7q_R5A&feature=share
  2. Interesting article on Welmer from January. http://www.therepublic.com/view/local_story/Family-tradition-Familiar-name_1358229301
  3. If I had to guess for the same reason Notre Dame was allowed to leave the Beast early without having to pay an exit fee. Because they agreed to relinquish any claim to NCAA tournament credits and exit fees paid by the other schools that had already left. I understand your skepticism since this has not been rumored anywhere but it’s the only reason that makes sense to me for starting at 10 and then going to 12 the next year. The C7 doesn’t appear to have left with a large amount of seed money to protect and the 2 million dollar difference in the A10 exit fees paid by teams in 2014 vs. 2013 is pocket change on a deal of this size. Besides if it was financial related why not just write it into the contract. This is the only plausible explanation I can think of that makes sense. If you can come up with something else I'd love to hear it.
  4. My take on the C7 expansion The reason they are starting off with 10 teams and moving to 12 is that part of the deal negotiated during the breakup of the Big East was that Louisville, Rutgers and Notre Dame would also leave in 2013 (at least for Basketball) and possibly play 1 year with the C7 before departing for the ACC and BIG. I think the reason no announcement has been made is due to ongoing negotiations with the ACC/BIG regarding Louisville, Rutgers, Maryland, and Notre Dame joining their respective new conferences in Basketball for 2013. With the most likely scenario that Notre Dame is allowed to join the ACC early. Maryland stays put in the ACC till 2014. Rutgers and Louisville play 1 year of football with the old Big East and 1 year of basketball with the C7 and 3 additional teams. Butler and Xaxier will take the first two spots and the last spot for 2013 will go to either SLU, Creighton. In 2014 Louisville and Rutgers will be replaced by 2 additional teams, one from the midwest (SLU or Creighton) and one from the east probably Richmond. I still think Dayton gets left out.
