The next great basketball player from edwardsville will be the first great basketball player from edwardsville.

This person must be just as stupid as footsie. How many are there on this board.

[The next great basketball player from edwardsville will be the first great basketball player from edwardsville].... WHAT A STATEMENT

You cannot fix stupid, this from a fan of the billiken program??????

Some of this persons pals better fill him in on some of that particular schools players.

I will just throw out 3 initials, DO.....MJ.....GV.......of a few players and let this proud member of the program do some reseach, instead of talking like the footsie and a few others who make these statements.

I will give this "fan" a hint though.

They, and many more were wanted at st louis u, but these 3 went to other colleges. They sure would of looked good in a billiken uniform.

They all had very SUCCESSFUL college careers,or great since our fan likes that word ....and all had something to do with basketball following their playing the college game.

To make it a little easier,to let this statement maker brainless person down to earth gently..one even owns the Harlem Globetrotters right now among other things and have given back much to his college and community as well. Now do your research assignment

Like I said they ALL had nice college basketball careers or is the word Great the key word here.

If this fan of ours could read,my statement was about the AREA. He,talking big, like the footsie and a few others, like to mention names, players, and towns, as everyone can see,[there seems to be alot of that these days] he knows nothing about.

Well the two best players on the TEAM right now is from this AREA I was talking about. As a matter of fact about as close as you can get from the same towns.

One played in the same very RICH traditon basketball conference to the school that you so plainly refer to by NAME.The other played in two of the schools in the same conferences town. And those are rivals in just one little surrounding of this vast basketball RICH area.I and others have been to many games in this area and seen the many many talented players.

I know this goofus doesnt probably know this....but he surely doesnt want to go into the history of this AREA of high school basketball and its rich tradition of players. Not with the statement he made above.

Maybe he should ask or could of asked some of these living and a few decent deceased coaches

Dean Smith

Adoph Rupp

Bob Huggins

Bob Knight

Dale Brown

Joe B Hall

Roy Williams

Norm Stewart

Lou Henson

John Wooden

Coach K

Ray Meyer

Al McGuire

Gene Keaty

Denny Crum

Jack Hartman

Jonny Orr

just to name a few....naming mostly Hall of Famers or well known coaches to even the least basketball mind like some we have here. I could name many many more

who have come to see players from just ONE conference play let alone this basketball rich AREA.

So fan...the ACTIONS and decisions a college coach makes can and does have a big effect on its outcome.

You should watch what you say

So, like my statement said...there are college coaches who are salivating over some of the moves the coach has made.TAKE IT TO THE BANK

Hope you get out a little more than footsie of the mouth, people in the know talk and believe me the college coaches listen and know every move a coach makes.

My statement stands, there has been much talk about this, and other college coaches in the AREA are salivating about the move, moves, actions and words the coaching genuis has made and done.

Name me one coach who is "salivating" about this and then we might consider your trash talk. Show us the quote via link or print article or the video clip. You're just making ###### up now that you can't prove. How about one fact from you, just one?

You are the biggest dumbass on the planet. Check out the career wins and losses for Majerus. I'll take him over some Carbondale d-bag hobo like you.

Carbondale is a pimple on the ass of the world. Go back to your glorified high school gym with the rest of the hicks. I can see why the enrollment at Edwardsville in on the rise while it's declining in Carbondale. That trend will continue.

Dustin went for 28 tonight against Ferris St.. Somebody has already pointed this out over in the comments under a TT blog post over at stltoday.com. I wonder who that could have been?

In another news, Adam Knollmeyer had 15 points and 15 rebounds in a MO S&T win. I glad to see he is getting off to a good start with his new team.

So, it could be argued that Majerus did right by these kids in letting/pushing them to go to places where they would be more successful (and probably have a more enjoyable college experience).

Like I said, I'll come down to Carbondale so you don't have to travel too far from your tent.

Why don't yo answer any of my questions, d-bag? What coaches are "salivating" about majerus being at SLU? Have you ever flown into New Orleans, Midway, or Hobby? Oh wait, you won't answer those questions because it will just confirm what a dumbass you are.

Go f#$% yourself hillbilly.

or just maybe a couple of them might have been able to help the team this year more than the three roster spots that wont contribute this season.

which of the 4 who left would have helped this year? femi john is redshirted. don't think mitchell or mcguire would be ahead of femi on the depth chart.

relphorde and knollmeyer - ahead of what we have right now?

i think they would be ahead of open roster spots.

that said, all three that are playing (mitchell is hurt) are obviously having outstanding starts to their seasons. the fact they have been here and went through rickma boot camp before would have put them ahead of the freshmen to start out. rickma should not be crying about lack of experience when he sent players off to other schools and let open roster spots for the billikens.

i like every one of our freshmen, but that doesnt mean i dont think the departed could have been more ready to play right now.

They are all having outstanding starts on lower levels. You can not try to say they would be doing the same thing on this level. We had enough fours come through here that looked like all-conference players in games against DII teams to know better than that.

where did i say that? all i am saying is they could have possibly helped more this season than the three roster spots that wont contribute one minute of floor time this season.

i dont think it is fair to assume that they necessarily couldnt have contributed anything either. there have been plenty of billikens throughout the program history that played little their first year or two and then became contributors later in their careers.

now had rickma filled the spots with immediately contributing floor players, that at least would have been something. but to cut players and then put nothing in those spots for this season is strange imo.

Roy would you perfered that Rickma would have kept them around for another year when he believed they had no future in the program? Might have it possibly have been in the kids best intrest for them to move on now instead of using them for another year to fill a spot and then pushing them out?

Ahead of TL3 playing the 4. Just let it go. RM dogged these kids. Some of us don't like it but we have to move on and embrace the current players. No need to denigrate the kids whose scholarships were yanked.

When RM fell in love with Eckerle and banished the other kids to the bench, it caused a domino effect. At the end of the season there's a very real possibility that Eckerle isn't even playing while Relphorde fields offers from multiple mid-majors and Maguire is getting more positive press than we are. That's not a fair exchange, IMO.

One track minds. Give it a rest, will you guys. Yes, we have 3 open scholarships, so what? Brad never used all 13 of his scholarships. Roy, why are you creating a new standard for RM requiring him to use all available scholarships this year? DM, AM and MR each would have 3 more years of being scholarship fillers. AK would have 2 years left. I guarantee you that RM will fill these scholarships with more productive players during the next 1 to 2 years.

Roy. Before you post again about some (me in this case) bringing up the name of Brad, let me explain that I do so to make a point that you (not Brad or RM) have an unfair double standard for our head coaches.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if those four players were still here, the Bills would not have been able to land Cassitty and Cotto. The move out was good for those young men especially in the case of Dustin and Adam to be playing at a lower level where they are best suited, and it was good for SLU's program. I can't figure out what the complaint is here.

Hey, let's give credit where it is due. Brad was an excellent D2 recruiter. In fact in my opinion, one of the best!
