Recruit (1/7)

  1. I went to yesterday's game with my sister, who is a SLU graduate, and had a terrific time. I root for the Bills every time they play but I couldn't root for them against my Jackets. I thought I'd respond to a couple of yalls posts in one new topic. Attendence: This game was a part of the Peach Bowl Classic involving four teams playing in Philips Arena (where the Hawks play). The second game was between Clemson and UGA. Both of those teams have extremely large alumni bases in Atlanta. Many of those empty seats you saw on TV were for Clemson and UGA fans who didn't want to watch the GT/SLU game as well. We normally play our games in Alexander Memorial Coliseum on campus. -side note- The Braves attendence situation is due to the fact that the majority of people living in Atlanta are not native Atlantans. We have had an influx of Northerners over the past 10 years and most of the native Atlantans have moved out to the country. This is why there are always a lot of Mets and Phillies fans (as well as those hated Cubs fans) at our stadium. Foul Situation: I see in the box score 22 fouls on SLU and 17 fouls on GT. But the foul shot difference was GT - 28, SLU - 9. From my vantage point this is directly related to shot selection. Georgia Tech attacked the basket more than Saint Louis. Drejaj, Bryant, and the other perimeter players seemed content to shoot long distance jumpers. Josh Fisher was the only one who attacked the basket. BTW, I believe they were SEC refs. Anyways, it was a good game. Saint Louis played hard and kept the game closer than most teams we have played. I'll be rootin for yall from here on out.
