  1. I'd argue we need a coach good at both! Not great, just really good. Understands that the offense flows through sound defense. That, and teach ALL of the team to have that killer instinct! Teach these kids you are there to DOMINATE! EVERYONE gives 120%, no slacking. You should be able to win most games given the above mentality I would think.
  2. Hey all. While we did get an email, honestly, I certainly didn't, nor wouldn't, put much thought into this as nothing is ever set in stone. Hell, we're just wrapping up the opening weekend of all the tournies, and look at the DeVries situation, nothing came out until they were DONE. I can assure you all, NOBODY in the Band has ANY inside knowledge of the goings on with the coaching search. If they do, then they either talked with boosters or someone higher up, as it didn't come from within the Band. We all just need to take a breath, and let things just happen. I'm as enthusiastic as the next person to see who the next head coach will be, but they say patience is a virtue. More or less, you will all find out when we do. And no offense to the board here, but internal band emails are things that should NEVER be shared, plain and simple. And opinions of individual band members do NOT reflect those of the Band as a whole. All I know is, I'm enjoying watching some great basketball so far, and will be patiently, but excitedly, waiting for any new heads up for a coaching announcement. Until then, let's just all enjoy the moment(s) of watching some of the blue blood schools be ousted by those "small schools"!
  3. This presser is getting harder to watch as it goes... just say it bro, ya dun!
  4. This board is gonna be hella interesting the next few months...
  5. Likewise. Right before TF sat down for the A10 presser he looked at his phone.... as I got the notification. Wondering if he was getting the same thing? Oofah
  6. Oofah... TF is on the post game for KMOX....
  7. No Pete, you're good. As one of the people who helped do the masters on those albums, you're good to keep using Saints and Fired Up since you aren't making significant profit off of it. But, if the podcast starts making a bajillion dollars, we may have to talk! Or, if said occurs, I suppose y'all can just sponsor the next CD and we can call it even. I actually REALLY like this idea, and I think it can be doable. Hopefully with more time to coordinate and gear up in rehearsal season, we can make this happen. The trick is, from what I heard, is the DJ dude is on loan from the Cardinals and it would be up to his availability to come to rehearsals with his spin deck to figure it all out.
  8. That's now a tie for a half no? Could've sworn it was 9 at the half for us..
  9. Sorry, couldn't pass this up...sit closer, we still win that battle! Some of us, maybe myself, sound like psychotic lunatics, all the while still sober. Is that good or bad?!
  10. You know we're always appreciative of the kudos Roy. And thank you ALL for the support you've shown the Band this year! Even if the product on the court isn't the greatest, we'll ALWAYS put our best foot forward for you guys! Hope you enjoyed the music and til the music rings out next year, everyone have a safe and exciting off season!
  11. I don't want to speak for individual feeling(s) on the situation, but I don't think it's apathy, or at least I hope it isn't. It'll sound cheesy as hell, but the Band's heart and soul took a pretty good beating the past couple of years. That age ole saying "time heals all" I think is applicable here, and the Band is just trying to heal itself as time goes. Having a dismal season isn't helping heal it faster, but I believe we're back on our feet, walking, not running yet. Those of us "seasoned" folks were ready to run full throttle and I think didn't realize we had to slow down so the new folks and Grant/Matalee could catch up (and their collective breath). I guess we just needed to....find our rhythm?! (OK, no more Dad jokes)
  12. Mostly agree. They're going, and that's about as best as it can be. There was consternation right before Winter Break about not playing more of the repertoire that we have on hand, but I can attest that it was mainly due to the above, where we had a lot of new students, some bolted, most stayed, they're not used to the college band level yet, and the diminished number of alums we have on hand to fill that gap makes/made it difficult to play some of the more advanced stuff we had. Intermix that with just the current state of instrumentation make-up of the Band, and we want to sacrifice quality over quantity. Give it a bit more time and we'll open up our library further, most likely starting next year. Recently, I have went back and watched a couple of videos one of our guys shot back in the "Mike B Days", and it definitely sucks we lost that many folks/talent. When we had 8-9 tubas alone, in just a massive wall of sound, it's hard to replace. But alas, we adapt, we survive, we move on. I will say in my conversations with Grant, he'd love if the alums that left would come back, and it's an open invitation to every single one of them at any time. However, my guess would be that won't happen until a regime change happened due to that being one of the main catalysts for them leaving. Other than that, we're chuggin' along (no pun intended...mostly :D). We'll be playing the Fan Fest before tomorrow's game, then we have our annual Band Appreciation Event after the game. We'll be going on both trips for the A10 tourney, so that's always a plus for the kids. But yeah, it's going. ::shrug::
  13. And it's not like any big name sports trackers are hot on the subj...oh wait! Guess ESPN is watching: Guide to the 2024 men's college basketball coaching hot seat - ESPN That last sentence just bites a little harder coming from there. Oofah!
  14. HUH?! PRESSURE AT THE 3PT LINE?! CTF, this team can't pressure $h!t, let alone the 3PT line.... oye he makes my head hurt! This post game interview is just brutal to listen to. CTF sounds half clueless, and half DGAD...smh
  15. Their Italian Sausage is WAY better! Actually, most of the food Caputo's has is RIDICULOUSLY good! It's like a Toys R Us for Italian food!
