slufan13
Wanted to keep this separate since that's the routine when we get a new guy. Twitter says Jermaine Bishop, a 6'1 PG from New York has committed. Don't know anything about him. Other offers aren't great but PG is good. 3star_recruit
I assume that this is the kid from out East who visited this weekend. Now the 2016 recruiting agenda is pretty clear - only two schollies to offer. Need scorers for Jermaine to pass the ball to and guys who can defend their position. moytoy12
From the NY Daily News: Jermaine Bishop Sr., G, Holy Cross Still recovering from a knee injury suffered over the summer, but is consider a very solid combo guard with a good shot. http://m.nydailynews.com/sports/high-school/news-names-top-boys-girls-hoops-prospects-14-15-article-1.2021222
slufan13
Based on the very limited info out there, he seems like kind of a scoring point guard. Hopefully he can get in the lane and suck in the defense and kick out to our shooters. Something I'm not sure anyone on our team can do yet. Dwayne's_World
He will definitely have the opportunity to contribute right of the bat along with the sophs, hopefully he can be the primary ball handler we need for the future

johnbj14
While mixtapes are not the best indicator of talent, he appears to be a fairly calm player with the ball in his hands and looks for his shot. While he appears very fluid and smooth on the court, I would not describe him as particularly quick. We will see when he gets here in the fall, but I think this is a good signing. He may not be the "pure point" that everyone seems to want, but he looks like a good addition to the core.
BigMouthBilliken
You mean people still want to come here? All kidding aside he seems to be comfortable taking a jump shot (something we only saw from maybe AM last year) and his free throw percentage is pretty good at roughly 74%
WVBilliken
Anyone find out the type of injury? Been looking but have not found anything yet.

DeSmetBilliken
I don't claim to know if this kid is good, or will be good, but for now I'll just be happy that we may have just gotten a commitment from a New York City point guard.

VeniceMenace
His very first offer came from Fairfield. AAU ball: Played for NY Lightning in Nike EYBL (same league as STL Eagles). Team finished 9-7. He averaged 16 minutes per game, 7 points, 2 Rebs, 71% FT, 33% FG, 30% 3 PT, 1.6 assist, 1.3 TO He gets top billing for a NYC high school all-star game along with a Notre Dame recruit: https://notredame.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1751222
Zink
Looks a bit quicker than our current crop of guards. Not undersized, but not big either. Seems to have a quick release and his shooting motion is smooth. Some good passes, but also a lot that won't work in college. My favorite part of the highlights was seeing him use picks at the top of the key to penetrate/get open for a jumper. Hopefully seeing that the staff went out and signed another guard spurs our frosh on to improve.
