Will Lebron cement his legacy by carrying a crippled Cavs team to the finish line? Or will he crash and burn, much to Skip Bayless' delight

Cavs win 97-92, Lebron puts up just 32 tonight but has 10+ assists.

3* Warriors (-1 1/2) by 11.

Lebron has been absolutely unreal in the playoffs, and he has been legendary in the Finals thus far. If he helps the Cavs pull this off it could be the greatest Finals performance of all time, even better than any of Jordan's.

Agreed. Always been a Lebron fan, even with his moment of stupidity for the "announcement". What he's doing this playoff year is incredible. I'd take him over Jordan 7 days a week and twice on Sunday.

And Warriors by 11. bwahahahahaha.

LeBron is an incredible talent, however I cannot deal with the slack he gets from officials. Yes, I know that superstars all have special treatment, but the amount of whining he does waters down the enjoyment I should have from watching him. That, coupled with his sprinkling of excuses in post game conferences following a win to make him seem more heroic just puts a sour taste in my mouth. The Cavs are up more so because of their ability to play solid team defense and disrupt the warriors offensive efficiency. However that doesn't get discussed much when LeBron is putting up huge numbers regardless of his inefficiency in doing so.

Anybody else see similarities between the 2012-2014 Bills and the Cavs? It may be that I am just a fanboy of both teams. But I see a tough gritty man to man defense and an offense that is reminiscent of a trip to a dentists office that controls pace and doesn't allow the other team to get out in transition.

Obviously, the comparison doesn't work if you go player by player - we didnt have a Lebron. But we may have our Lebron soon and it really makes me think what could be...

Teams like the current Cavs roster are efficiency stats are not the end all. Yeah lebron has been inefficient at times but what else is there? Getting shumpert going? Making sure Tristan Thompson gets his? No. I think lebron is doing exactly what needs to be done to win. Getting everyone involved just enough to keep everyone honest.

Lebron is the GOAT

5* lock status. I don't care what happens the rest of the series. The second best player on his team is most famous for getting teabagged by Blake Griffin.

I do believe Lebron ends up consensus top 5 player of all time. I just don't know how you judge from Lebron to Jordan to Russell to Bird when they are all really different types of players. Lebron or Jayson Tatum will create their own greatness legacies, but it doesn't take away from Jordan, Russell, or Bird.

Obviously I'm being overly simplistic, but what Lebron has done with this cast of characters is simply remarkable. Serious question, as I'm really only familiar with Jordan, did any of the others named above have such a poor supporting cast? Jordan's teams were infinitely better than this current Cavs squad.

Russell and Bird are NBA legends, but I honestly don't know if they would be able to do what Lebron is doing right now. I don't think their bodies would be able to physically handle this workload. Lebron is the greatest pure athlete in the world in addition to being the most fundamentally sound, most skilled, and has the highest IQ of any player and it's not even close.

Well Russell had a great supporting cast. So did Magic. So did Bird. At least 2 other HOF players on those teams. MJ had another HOF with him. A product of league expansion, I'd assume.

But then to turn the tables, were they going against the same level of competition? I won't pretend to know about Russell, totally different era. But Bird and Magic were always going up against each other or the Pistons, each of those teams having at least 2 HOF players. MJ probably went against similar competition, sans the two Jazz series.

It is probably way too complicated to compare on a simple message board discussion. Lebron is having one of the best NBA finals performances ever.

The Cavs are up because of Lebron... Period. Also he got hosed at the end of Game 2 half a dozen times.

There is no question Lebron is a dominating force and one of the most dominating players ever, but the past two games of this series have been unwatchable. It looks more like football or rugby than basketball. Both teams, just watch how they defend and set screens, it is ridiculous. I guess that is what NBA basketball is at this point? Watching Steph Curry get held constantly, Lebron run down the lane like a fullback and get attacked as if he is, or the screens being set to free Steph Curry just highlights how physical the game is at that level and I personally don't enjoy it. It almost feels like the Super Bowl game between the Patriots and Rams where the Patriots said f it we will just hold them since the officals won't call every penalty in a game that is more of a production than a legitimate sporting event (who wants to watch officials throw flags), the difference is both teams are employing that strategy. I am not a NBA hater, but I am not sure how anyone could say the past two games have displayed a high level of basketball skill or have been enjoyable to watch. I give tons of credit to Lebron, the fact that he has led this team to a few games from a Championship is awesome, so this is not about me hating Lebron or refusing to give him credit.

You believe Lebron is the most skilled player?

I believe it's relative when it comes to skill, one could easily argue that Curry is the most skilled, but yes I do. The fact that he is a massive 6'8 250 lb machine who handles the ball like a point guard and orchestrates the entire offense is the reason why I believe so.

Personally I don't see him as being overly skilled from an offensive scoring stanpoint, but I agree with what you are saying with regards to him essentially being a Magic Johnson type and that has to demonstrate elite skill to have that ability for that size (few guys in the NBA have ever been able to do so).

He definitely is a skilled player, but most of his scoring is based around his pure power that comes from his 250 lbs. He is a unique matchup because of how fast he can move for someone that big. It really is unprecedented from an athletic standpoint.

The fact that he is so large but handles the ball so well is why he gets extra credit in the skills department, but if you're analzying just pure skill, someone like Curry or CP3 definitely has the advantage.
