http://mweb.cbssports.com/ncaaf/writer/jon-solomon/25457033/college-sports-discussing-eliminating-academic-standards-for-freshmenThe NCAA is apparently looking into getting rid of initial eligibility requirements for athletes. This could greatly influence someone such as Draggs or TilMon if he hadn't transfered away. Obviously it is has not happened yet, but the fact the NCAA is talking about it is interesting nonetheless.

No, the Power 5 schools are discussing it, just as they have discussed getting rid of transfer regulations (e.g. allowing poaching). Both would be disastrous to schools like SLU where athletes are actually students too and the general membership would never approve it. If anything it's another sign the Power 5 will soon split off to form their own organization.

his competition doesn't look that great. if he chose to go play for Crews, he's probably very average. Backhand doesn't need to see the film.

Riverview plays a large school schedule. The team in that video is a small Illinois school.

Haven't seen it posted anywhere in here, so I apologize if I missed it, but SLU offered Cartier Diarra a couple of days ago:

Also picked up a recent offer from Kansas State.

It's good to hear we're still recruiting for '16, but how many 2/3s do we need on a team? Even if the staff anticipates one of our current 2/3s to be leaving, I'd love to see us offering someone other than another 6'4" not-quite-a-pg-not-quite-a-sg.

Interesting - Calipari is bitching about 1 and done ruining his his program how will he feel about having other schools poaching off his roster? I guess players would find themselves getting dumped also in the Spring if a coach thought he could do better with someone else's player. I know that can sort of happen already but at least it usually is not a transfer that causes this now. Stupid idea.

Hey, but this kid can dunk and that is what is important!

We have 2 to give and Moore took one. Hine's schollie is still available. Now that answers your questions technically. In reality, we know there will be transfers. I guess Crews lives in the world of denial.

-taking a schollie from a kid that has started the last 3 games? interesting

-I thought we had one to give (AY) and Moore took that

-I am interested in who is leaving to make one available; I expected transfers from the frosh class after last season and all stayed, heck Jolly had 10 pts on Saturday and played well according to Rammer and Earl and he was looking like the most likely

Here's some decent video on Diarra: http://hooplife.net/news/2016/01/23/64-cartier-diarra-is-one-of-the-hottest-unsigned-srs-in-the-south/

Cartier Diarra: SG, 6-4, 185, West Florence, SC (West Florence)Offers: SLU, K-State, Georgia State. Interest: Duquesne, St. Bonaventure, Wichita State, MTSU, South Alabama. Latest News: Diarra picked up offers from SLU and K-State. He took an official visit to K-State on 1/16. Scouting Report: Diarra is an explosive lefty with a vertical near 40 inches. He has flown under the radar until this season, as he has bounced back and forth between his home state of New York, where he plays AAU, and South Carolina, where he attends high school and lives with former Clemson player and NBA draft pick Sharone Wright. Diarra has demonstrated a complete game this season, averaging 19.4, 11.0, and 8.1. Twitter: @scunderdog20

This offer has my interest.

-I can just hear Gus...and entering the game for the Billikens is #44 Kris Kringle

-if there were any repercussions for mistakes in our ADept Gus would be praying this one doesn't come our way, of course, there are not so he doesn't care

Mfiondu Kabengele: F, 6-9, 235, Burlington, Ontario (Don Bosco Prep, NJ)Offers: SLU, St. Bonaventure, Boston College, Florida State, Georgia, Vermont, Binghamton, Grand Canyon. Interest: None. Latest News: SLU is Kabengele’s latest offer. He visited Florida State in mid-January. Scouting Report: Kabengele is a late bloomer from a recruiting standpoint; his first offer was Binghamton in September. He has a 7-1 wingspan but handles the ball like a guard. He has added significant weight since the offseason, filling out his long frame. He’s a confident shooter with range and a disruptive defender. Twitter: @ItsMfiondu

I want this dude... don't care that he's a guard... Seems like a Tommie Liddell type.

He's a good-looking player. Consider me very intrigued by this guy, as well.

He's not what I originally expected, based on his size. He plays like a guard. I'm not sure he'd be comfortable playing down low, which is what he'd have to do on our roster. He's as tall or taller than Agbeko, with longer arms. Maybe not quite as solid (yet). But he looks like he'd rather play a 2-3.

According to some K-State twitter, Diarra is announcing his decision on February 3rd. The writer who the info comes from posted in on some K-State forum that required a subscription to view, so I am going based off of the conversation on Twitter. Basically, Diarra is announcing February 3rd and K-State is the presumed favorite from what I have gathered.

Edit: Also, according to Yahoo, Diarra had an official visit to SLU on January 9th. http://sports.yahoo.com/ccc/basketball/recruiting/player-Cartier-Diarra-187387

Why would he have to play down low? Gillmann and the other bigs don't.
