Basketbill
I heard earlier Kansas had an overseas trip to China I think, it was not the planned every four year trip etc., Now I have come across an article about Louisville's trip to Puerto Rico. The article says they will have 9 games against team in Puerto Rico. How uneven a playing field does it have to be before someone questions it? Why do we only get 3 games when Louisville gets to play 9 frickin' games....... So much for sneaking up on a BCS team that lost 60 percent of their starters...... TheChosenOne
Didn't Kansas essentially represent USA in some world tournament this summer? Seems fair.
wgstl
Ya they represented USA in the world games. I think Northern Iowa was the team before Kansas.

Louisville's real team is playing 5 games against the Puerto Rico Sr. National Team. They're taking a "B" team to play 4 games against the Puerto Rico Jr. Nat'l team. I'm not sure the makeup of the "B" squad but I doubt we'll be seeing any of those players in November. The 'Ville is broadcasting their games online for a fee and also locally on one of their network radio stations (maybe the flagship station.) Would've like to heard Rammer's take on our exhibition games.

The refs would've threatened him, Rammer would've said, "not here, not in my house" and then kicked their a$$ afterward.

Yes and Creighton and USC are in Italy, and the Illini in France. College athletes are getting exploited unnecessarily on these trips to exotic foreign locations. Shouldn't these athletes be compensated for having to take these trips?

LOL, but that is not what I was getting at.... Why are we limited to every fourth year, and the KU's and Louisville get to go every other year. When they get to go Louisville gets to play their first team for five games we only get three, why? Is it limited by the NCAA or is it limited by the school? The rule is pretty strict in that you can't schedule one of these trips but every four years. Not sure where you're getting that Louisville went "every other year." Since the school is paying for the trip they probably set a cost limit so the number of days they're out meets the money allotted. SLU and Wake are my top two college teams and I was disappointed three years ago when Wake went to Canada, then only played two games. I figured they would play five as SLU had the year before. Basketbill
so you answered my question about the number of games, I guess it is what the school can afford to play. Kansas competed in Switzerland and France in August 2012, and now in 2015, do the forfeit their trip next year, and wait until 2019 for their next trip? You are right about Louisville, though Louisville had to get a waiver allow the team to play in puerto rico. Pitino was coaching the Puerto Rican National team, and a few of Louisville's games were against them.

Not sure if those games are counted as a trip No, Kansas competed in the World University games this year, in 2014 they werenselected to represent the United states. All their current players who have not declared for the NBA could play, but their incoming foreign player could not, he could play for his country though.
