  1. this is my hope along with keeping the top recruit to come with him. i think that would be a very good roster to go to the next season with.
  2. Maybe Schertz is just a man of his word. he entered into a committment and SLU showed him the courtesy of letting him finish his season. Reportedly SLU even engaged a realtor on behalf of Schertz and his family to start the search process for a new home. apparently they rolled out the welcome mat for his request to bring some of his players with him. i.e. SLU went out of their way to make things good for Schertz. Yes apparently Louisville threw a lot of zero's at him. but i give some credit to Schertz for holding to his word.
  3. Schertz has a recruit coming from Canada (don't know if he comes with him or not tho) that some believe is the best high school recruit this year. I want that kid!
  4. great post. (Im out of reactions today.) we are in a different time. who knows how this is going to spin out. we better win big asap. i have the feeling we are headed to a very ugly split of D1.
  5. i havent watched an NFL game since the stupid kneeling started and had lost interest long before that. so not a good example. that said forward pass is hardly akin to slimy under the table off the playing field shenanigans these coaches were/are involved in.
  6. agree. i always took a day off work to go see it. best high school display ever.
  7. and as i said, if that is 100% the way it is, i have no interest in being a college basketball fan any longer. i have faith the majority of programs still have some morals and goodness and charater. if that means they lose, i could still root for them before i root for the snakes.
  8. i'd be ashamed to root for a cheater team. a cheater will recruit cheaters. when saint louis university becomes that i move on.
  9. i will go to my grave hating both prearl and sampson. wouldnt hire either one of those scoundrels either. i dont care if whatever is now legal. character imo is still a treasured trait. all of the above lack character imo.
  10. wasnt he charged with multiple NCAA violations? myself, even if the things he was charged with are now legal in the new wild west of the ncaa, i dont want a cheater and i am sure we arent the only school thinking the same way.
  11. please tell us what he should have done differently? also you do know he has been continuing reaching out to candidates correct? it is my understanding rico greer met with AD May this past weekend.
  12. our local media has always been stock full with mi$$ouri journalism losers. what would you expect?
  13. this should be required reading by all. paticularly the hand wringers.
  14. Ace, i understand and you have a reasonable concern. most of us have a softspot for our alma mater. but keep in mind Schertz's bad experience leaving tennis and the way he was treated by his own family. i.e. beyond school, florida doesnt necessarily have all great memories for him. to qualify my above statement. that is just my opinion after reading his background and watching the interview that abomb posted about a week ago on Coach Schertz. no where have i read or heard Schertz say he has a problem or apprehension about returning to florida. I believe Coach Schertz is all but a done deal. probably just need a signature to the agreed to verbal agreement. the thing i have a hard time believing is the general belief that he will bring his starting 5 with him. i cant think of a single situation where a coach even brought 2 or 3 players with him when he switched schools let alone 5! i will believe that when it happens.
