Brian Conklin representing SLU well

Recommended Posts

Brian is having a great season in New Zealand, leading his Southland Sharks team to an 11-3 record at this point, clinching a (surprising) playoff berth. It's a 16-game season, 4 teams make the playoffs. Conk is averaging over 20 ppg and almost 10 rpg.

In addition, he has just signed to play for the Townsville Crocodiles in the Australian League, so it sounds like he will remain in the Southern Hemisphere for awhile. Congrats, Brian !

Townsville Crocodiles sponsored by Croc Shoes so comfortable you'll forget a Dingo ate your baby.

Also in the League the Citytown Vegemites, Hamletburg Great Whites and Urbanborough Boomerangs

If you win the NZ league you get to be an extra in the upcoming Hobbit part II

Great names ! :D The league appears to be : the Adelaide 36ers, Cairns Taipans, Melbourne Tigers, New Zealand Breakers, Perth Wildcats, Sydney Kings, Townsville Crocodiles and Wollongong Hawks. Cairns and Townsville are big rivals. A taipan is a snake. These 2 teams form the "reptile rivalry".

I'd hope w/ CE returning down under and with BC there, these two might be able to do some recruiting of the outback for us. Aussies playing D1 ball have not done bad here. Didn't Harriman pull in a big name for the Huskers?

I hope so too, but without an Aussie assistant coach it might be difficult to convince kids to come to the Midwest.

Christian Salecich would be a good get;

I had heard he was going to play locally don't know what is true but odds are 50/50 he could sell young Aussies on the life in Saint Louie
