I can only assume this is sarcasm.

The hand wringing over Drew is out of control. If SLU wants tobe big time, this is how yhe game is played. Is it gross? Sure is. In fact, bigtime college sports is gross from top to bottom. No recruit is avoiding slu over Drew because they, unlike some posters here, understand that this is par for the course.

I think it's time to fire Crews and the only reason i say this is because things probably would be different if he had not canned Jared Drew. Good Transfers and Recruits who are considering Slu don't want to come here now because of Drew getting Canned.

Jesperson wasn't ever coming to SLU. Abell is the only one that was legitimately interested in SLU who has said no. I don't see a problem here.

If guys avoided schools because of guys getting yanked, how did Kentucky land 6 of the top 25?

Totally disagree on that Randy O follows Jared Drew Aka(Uncle Deuce). So I Highly think that he knows what happened. And i am really sure he was close to commiting to slu and now is nowhere close to commiting here.

One factor that may give #USC a possible edge to land Paul Jesperson is that his brother David Jesperson recently signed with Pepperdine

always a big help, ex: wiggins to kansas..

This is all speculation and its pretty silly. You have no clue why drew was let go. You have no clue what the interest in onwuasor is like or what drew leaving will do to our recruiting of him. Ridiculous

Ok it is Ridiculous what I said but Slu's options for 2 scholarships are limited to 3 people now that jesperson is probably not coming here

You should offer up a fact or two before saying you were sure he was committing here. He had ample time to sign on before JD was "blindsided". Do you know RO? Why did he go to Miami if he was so sure? Why go to TT and supposedly UT if he was so sure? Since you're so sure he's not coming now, where's he going? I think you're highly delusional.

You're right. There r only 3 possibilities to fill the two spots. Of course if there were others we would surely already know given that we are an all knowing message board.

And again you still don't know all the details about why drew is not returning. My guess is that none of us will ever hear the whole story

I can tell you why Drew isn't returning here(if He can even do that) because He likes being with his family now. After the fact about Crews letting him go.

For someone with less than 100 posts you sure do know a lot about everything.

Relax. There are other fish in the sea and our lines are in the water. Be patient.

Maybe i should stop thinking about what isn't happening that's isn't good for slu and what is good for slu?(but there isn't anything to talk that's good about slu that isn't old or that i haven't already talked about)

im starting to get real nervous..

Why? This recruiting class is fine with the three already signed. Getting an impact transfer would be a cherry on top but its not a requirements to call this spring a success.

Now the summer recruiting and fall signing period which we currently have 7 schollys to give is something to be nervous about. Our future success depends on it.

I think i was just fired up because i liked jesperson and thought he was going to come here but well i mean it can still happen where he comes here but highly unlikely

Kentucky gets pretty much whoever they want. Most of their recruits aren't there long enough to yank scholarships. Calipari did run off 7 of Billy G's guys, but Billy G was an imbecile.

Coach Crews has gotten one thing SLU has had trouble getting: big guys with skill.

Because of that, I think it's been a pretty good recruiting class.

It is a great recruiting class as it stands now. Even if we don't sign anybody else we are fine. And, we shouldn't sign anybody unless they are a good get.

Update for the last two spots. I added Townser- if anyone knows more about him, please let me know. Like I said, Juco information still has a long way to go:

Paul Jesperson, SG: 6-6, 197, Virginia. Transfer eligible as junior in 2014-2015. Interest from SLU, Northern Iowa, USC, Nebraska, and Florida. Latest (5/19): Jesperson is back home in Merrill, Wisconsin and will not make any other visits. A Wisconsin Badgers source says he'll likely choose between UNI and USC. His younger brother just committed to Pepperdine, which bodes well for USC. Previous: Jesperson tweeted "UNI, St. Louis, USC... 3 great visits, couple more left tho" on the 11th. It appears he will not be visiting Nebraska or Florida. At SLU, Manning (Virginia native) and Barnett (Wisconsin native) were his hosts. Pappy's was part of the itinerary.

Randy Onwuasor, PG: 6-3, 190, Inglewood HS, Inglewood, CA. Top Choices: SLU, Miami-Ohio, LSU, and Pitt. Other offers: UC-Irvine, UC-Riverside, and Cal State-Fullerton. Interest from Tennessee, Tennessee Tech, Seton Hall, Florida State, Arkansas, UNLV, Tulane, New Mexico State, and Utah. Latest (5/19): Tweeted to a friend that he was in no hurry on his decision, and then deleted it. After the LSU offer, he may be waiting to see who else is out there. The longer this goes on, the worse SLU's chances look. Previous: Onwuasor has visited SLU and Miami-Ohio. SLU and Miami have both made in-home visits. He said to Ben Weixlmann that his final three choices are SLU, Miami, and Pitt. He will be playing in the Nike Global Challenge in DC in July. He has been retweeting SLU fans a lot, but more recent tweets feature Tennessee, Tennessee Tech, and LSU. A TTU assistant apparently visited, and he now says he plans to visit Knoxville soon. No word on offers from either. Onwuasor has picked up an offer from LSU and has already visited there. What looked like a SLU-Miami race has now opened back up.

Jordan Strawberry, PG: 6-1, 170, Mater Dei HS, Santa Ana, CA. Offers: SLU, UC-Riverside, and at least 2 others (UNCW likely). Claims interest from Arizona, Virginia Tech, Gonzaga, California, and Florida State. Latest (5/16): Darryl Strawberry told Frank Cusamano that SLU "looked at" Jordan but that he's considering prep school in Connecticut. Previous: Visit to SLU (and dad) went very well. Since then, UNC-Wilmington has gotten in the mix and has one scholarship left to give after Addison Spruill, a shooting guard from Brevard CC, committed yesterday, 4/30. No confirmation on an offer from UNCW but it seems likely they've made one. He seems to be SLU's backup plan to Randy Onwuasor, but SLU seems like his best opportunity. This list came out on 5/1 and Strawberry's name and picture is in it. Interestingly, Onwuasor and Lancona are not mentioned. He also told a buddy on Twitter that his visit "out there" went well and he's trying to make his decision.

JaQuail Townser, PG: 6-3, 185, SWIC. Juco transfer eligible as sophomore in 2013-2014. Unclear whether SLU has offered or who else has. Latest (5/19): Townser has already visited SLU multiple times, at least once with another teammate. Townser averaged 8.8 PPG at SWIC this season along with 4.8 APG and 3.2 RPG on 42.5% shooting (26.0% from 3 and 78.7% from FT). The Telegraph on May 2 said, "Look for former Alton High standouts JaQuail Townser and Tony Bradley, both at SWIC in Belleville, to sign soon with four-year colleges." Here's a

of some high school (2012) highlights.

Achraf Yacoubou, SG: 6-4, 210, Villanova. Transfer eligible as junior in 2014-2015. Interested in SLU, Pitt, and Georgia Tech. Latest (5/16): He was supposed to visit Pitt on 5/14 but I haven't seen anything confirming that he actually visited. I have confirmed that he was in the Bronx (his hometown) on 5/15. Previous: Two Tweets from sportswriters on Friday, 5/3 said that Yacoubou visited SLU and will be visiting Pitt and Georgia Tech next. UNLV and Miami are out of contention. According to pantherlair.com writer Matthew Steinbrink, Pitt is focused on Yacoubou, Sheldon Jeter (if he decides to transfer), and DeAndre Kane. Kane made it official, so Pitt has one scholarship left to give.

A few thoughts:

-I updated the master list with the latest on Jesperson. My hunch was that SLU was already the third place contender to UNI (where he has friends and would star) or USC (which is one of the largest athletic programs in the nation and now not far from where his brother will be playing).

-This is already a very good recruiting class. We beat a LOT of serious competition for Agbeko and Lancona. Talented bigs with wide-ranging skill sets and high upside do not come along every year, and we have two. We also may very well have gotten Crawford before a lot of other schools got interested by signing him in the fall. We should feel good about what the staff has already accomplished.

-That said, I would like at least one more, preferably two spots filled this year. And I would like at least one of those spots to go to someone who won't be a freshman. Class "bunching" never works very well; when too many guys arrive as one class, there are just too many mouths to feed and egos are not getting any smaller these days. There is a TON of talent in the class of 2014 in the Midwest, much of it in Illinois and Missouri, and I'd hate to see us lose some of it to transfers in a couple years by having to fill 7 scholarships. 5 strong players in the class of 2014 would be perfect. We also don't want to be carrying unused scholarships too long.

-It's impossible to read Drew's transfer as a positive or negative in terms of how it will affect each individual recruit in this class. There is a decent chance some of our targets don't even know about it. There is also a decent chance they'll take it as a sign it was done to make room for them. And there's a decent chance they got to know Drew on their visit and are disappointed. There's just no way of knowing.

I was planning on it as soon as this one is wrapped up. I've been getting one started for another thread- would people rather see it now, or after this one?
