Bills by 15 over TAMCC

First the good news....with another good win, we have crawled up from B+ to A-. While it is still very early, A- teams in my system generally make the Dance. So what does this mean at this point in the season....It means things look promising and we are very good team at this point.

Wiz-

We aren't making the NCAA tournament this year. Fix your program & sober up.

I'm hoping that the media has blown everything out of proportion and that there won't be serious protests or riots, but who knows what will happen.... agree that there are many chicken littles in STL....

There is no way in hell that we see things get even close to what we saw in August. The media is a f+cking joke. The GJ announcement will happen Sunday but hopefully it's in the evening after another SLU victory.

Hopefully a bunch of thugs cannot shut down all the planned events in a major metro area! Peaceful protesters are another thing-that's not what the police and NG are worried about. It's the criminals acting in the name of protesters.

It would've been nice to at least wait until the criminals and/or protesters actually showed up to start announcing the sky is falling. Not sure how jumping the gun in this way is supposed to make the eventualities any better. All it's done is put people even more on edge.

Totally agree. This is the exact opposite of ripping a band-aid off and the tension just continue to grow every day they wait. Hopefully they announce Sunday evening which is the latest speculation (the previous 4 times/dates people speculated were wrong so I have my doubts).

I have also heard the Sunday night talk for the past three weeks but don't understand the reasoning.

I have no idea when the announcement will actually be made, but how would a Sunday night make any sense at all? If they're really worried about having to cancel more days of school and effing up people's morning work commutes, it makes the opposite of sense.

I really do not know if this may happen or even if it is possible it may happen, but how about if the grand jury is hung and cannot reach a decision. Then what?

No such thing as a hung grand jury. If nine vote to indict, a true bill is issued. Anything less than nine and no true bill. But double jeopardy has not attached, so it doesn't mean an indictment couldn't still be issued later.

A lot of very smart people, CEO's, Presidents of Universities, top officials, etcetera in the St. Louis area with lots in inside information ("intel") are investing a lot of time and money to attempt to ensure that things do not get out of hand.

Scores of out of town instigators are in town with a plan. The local thugs are being used, day one, and they do not even really know it. A few catchy chants or slogans and they are ready to go. This is a national program, dozens of national organizations are seizing the opportunity to advance their agendas based on the occurrence of August 9th, without truth or proof, with an immediate declaration that the officer is guilty.

The colder weather will help, I think the SLU games Sunday and Tuesday (I'll be there) will be played, but there could be problems depending upon the timing of the announcement.

Maybe you think you are smarter than the people preparing for mayhem, but if you take these threats lightly, you are a fool.

I would do it on Thanksgiving.

Minimal commute, regular people in their houses with family.

Only downside is that if you are a police officer, the holiday is likely ruined.

I am in the boat that no war will break out. I am not even sure what the protester's demands are at this point (do they have any?) because of the media noise. The system is corrupt and it must change! Okay, change to what?

Agree with MB that the people most passionate about drumming up trouble are people from outside STL.

The smart people in St Louis have led us from the fourth largest city in the country to where we are today. They don't have a great history of predicting the future.

And like clockwork, the resident tinfoil hat arrives to spread more unsupported bombast. Just imagine how much more insidey/intelly your innuendo would look if you italicized and underlined it as well as bolded it.

A good addition to the prediction thread would be which ends up higher at the end of the non-con schedule: Austin McBroom's assist to turnover ratio or MB73's "thug" to paragraph ratio...

Well, there's one insidey/intelly/very smart guy in particular responsible for declaring the statewide emergency and then refusing to say where the buck stops with respect to said emergency. I don't have a lot of faith in his ability to predict anything, but I am very confident in his consistent ability to effectively piss off every side of this particular debate

I'm not sure what the hammer/nail is supposed to represent, but one thing's for sure--if he shows up for a basketball game at Chaifetz on Saturday, he's going to be awfully lonely, regardless of what happens with the Clayton County grand jury...

This is the first time I agree with MB73. This should be taken seriously. All this has been planned for some time based on information from different police officers. Some of my police friends confirmed this to me. It's not just national, it's global. The information is out there if you look for it.

Depends on if where you are looking for it is right wing blogs. Especially since the well publicized "hit-list" from last weekend has now been traced to that Tea-Party prick.

It is absolutely sensible for the powers that be and our protectors in blue to take this seriously. But even so, that doesn't make it guarantee anything more than some broken windows (mostly of black-owned businesses) will be broken.

The announcement will be this morning, maybe 10am... Billikens, I hope you are prepared, this could be a difficult situation!
