Taj79
Up to #121 and that's Siena, a team returning all their major players. Only Fordham at #144 and St. Joe's at #127 from the A10 so far . Just doing this so if I have to eat my words, I will. i can't believe we'd be below some of these first 20+ teams but I can't believe we'd be that much higher based on what's coming back/in for us. Oh well, my first "can't wait." Staying tuned.

cheeseman
...but how can we be ranked higher than major conference schools like Clemson, Texas Tech and Mississippi? Good point - we are probably not on the list this year - I probably would not put us on the list given all the question marks.
bauman
Good point - we are probably not on the list this year - I probably would not put us on the list given all the question marks. They are at 110 now and still no Billikens. I am really getting worried! Our TH, IN foe is 110. Reading the write up I think we have nothing to worry about in that game
Taj79
And counting ...... #113 Old Dominion, #112 Yale, #111 Belmont, #110 Indiana State, #109 Western Michigan, #108 Delawarew and #107 Iona. Some notes ... Old Dominion is the supposed fifth-best team in CUSA and projected to have three starters who played nary aminute last year .... A Yale player had to dsecide between basketball and being a member of the "Whiffenpoofs," Yale's famous 14-man capella singing group. And he chose the 'poofs and will sit out this year. I can't fathom that..... Belmont is #2 in the Ohio valley and lost it's entire front court from a team that won at UNC last year .... Larry Bird U lost three key starters -- how can they be on here? Supposed SIXTH best team in the Valley to boot..... Western Michigan returns four guys from an NCA team that lost to Syracuse inthe opening round ... Delaware had a Big Three as the Miami Heat did and all are gone. This seems liek wuite a stretch .... Iona is the #1 MAAc eam and the first of these rated teams to be projected for an NCAA bid. Still hoping. Still can't wait.
slu72
Boy, I don't know how they're going to judge SLU's players based on the limited time most had last year, with the exception of Mc3 and JM. Maybe, they're really high on Ash and our FR. Hard to judge based on some of the write-ups whether we make it or not. I mean, we were one of 3 teams last year that started 5 Srs, so I don't know on what basis they'll judge us.
slufan13
Doesn't really matter what teams have been revealed if they aren't from the A10. They said 11? teams in the top 144 were from the A10 so there are still 9 A10 teams left.

If we are inside of the top 100, and as you accurately point out there is no real way to judge what we will have this year, it will be because of the momentum the staff and adminstration has created. Crews has garnered a lot of respect and his COY award was huge. Add in the 3 straight dances, and we'll definitely be on this list. Behind Yale? Please. kshoe
I think anyone that figured we wouldn't be in the top 144 didn't really look to see just how bad that implies we'd be. I'm not expecting all that much from the team this year but below 144 would be off the charts disappointing.
Taj79
Actually what you say kshoe makes sense. I will continue to update and take my lumps for the earlier comments should that be the case. And I am serious when I end things with "can't wait." Can't wait to watch this season play out and can't wait to see how they justify whatever they write about us. Frankly, I can't believe we'd be behind Fordham but then again one could project that they have more coming back in Severe than we do all around. slu72
Haven't read in great detail all the team write ups, but there are some teams that have lost starters. Not five as we have, but a lot. It will be an interesting read if we make this list. Plus I think it will be a very interesting year for us.

They should just steal DoctorB's post from the "Roster" thread and slot us somewhere near the backend of the top 50. I'm still sipping the kool-aid from that one. Dwayne's_World
So where would all of you rank us? I think theyll rank us around 70-80. I understand all of the pessimistic feelings towards this upcoming season due to all of the unknowns, but realistically people are starting to give more credit to SLU's basketball program as a whole. DeSmetBilliken
Taj Mahal 79 could you define Severe? I'm not Taj, but I assumed he was referring to Jon Severe, Fordham basketball player who averaged 17 ppg as a freshman last season. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/66390/jon-severe

MB73
Yes, I agree. Although we are a huge unknown with 5 new starters, there is now an established respect for us with RM and now Crews and our NCAA track record, so they will put us 70 - 90; more conjecture, guesswork about us than in years.
