Recruit

Recruit (1/7)

  1. Dayton did win 82-63 and now we face San Diego St. who wiped the arena with the vaunted "marquee" team The Ohio St buckeyes by twenty. A number of sites have said they saw the Flyers losing tonight but believe me they won going away as I watched the whole game.
  2. Just so you know that the A Ten has some decent soccer teams, Dayton's women won the conference championship and it's third straight NCAA invite beating Richmond on their home field earlier today. The men's squad is 14-5-2 and has been ranked a couple of times this year. I know thw Billikens have had good mens and womens programs, but I assure you when you get into the conference, there definitly will be competition for you. See you in '05 or if they speed things up,2004.
  3. According to the Cincinnati paper this morning, the A Ten voted privately to invite the Billikens and Charlotte into the conference in 2005.(hopefully sooner) It'll probably be officially announced tomorrow, but you guys are in and though we're not the Big East, we have some great schools that put out high quality sports of all varieties and without football pulling us around by the throat, (which unfortunatly is what's going to happen to Marquette and Depaul) we can concentrate on our main focus; being the best non football league in the country.Having you on our schedule for awhile we know how tough St. Louis can be, so I'm interested in seeing the 49ers in person and welcoming them to the decibal dungeun here in Dayton. Good luck this year ( except for the one game) and welcome aboard.
  4. I'll be shocked if either Charlotte or St. Louis isn't included in expansion come Thursday. I haven't heard many negative posts at all on our boards here in Dayton, other than about B.U. even being mentioned as a candidate. I'm sure they're a fine school, but the Billikens and 49ers bring much more to the table such as basketball sucsess, name recognition, nice arenas and fan attendance, not to mention programs where basketball is number one, not hockey, like at Boston U. The ACC has proved anything is possible concerning realignment and expansion, but I think you're in as do most of the fans here.
  5. Right you are, I've been posting so many messages about football and non football scenarios lately, after a while everything seems to run together. Yes, we should have the best non-football league in the country and on the fourth, it hopefuly will be official and the billikens and 49ers can be welcomed into our conference. Don't know if you heard yet but Xavier will be holding the A Ten tournament starting in 2005, right after we have it for the second time, so it's staying out here in the midwest for at least three more years. I think it's being held at the First Star center which holds 15-17,000 so they'll be plenty of seats and though it's a good drive from St. louis, it beats having to go all the way to Philly to catch the championship.Good luck this season.
  6. Many of the A Ten schools are always going to be pro east coast, and even though Dayton and Xavier have been members for a number of years now, we still get a lot of flack for being "in the sticks" and not really east coast programs as the original teams were. The muskies and flyers are also by far the leading schools in attendance, and over the last few years have turned the west division into the dominant side of mens basketball. Adding two well attended basketball schools, neither of which is "east or northeast" probably doesn't set well with some of the programs that maybe don't feel they need any more competition than they already have. I personally can't wait as we already have a good relationship with St. Louis and Charlotte always seems to be in the hunt in Conference USA, so it's obvious they're no slouches themselves. Look forward to having you both in our conference, as we shouild continue to be the best non basketball league in the country. Hope to see some billiken fans on New Years eve at the decibal dungeun for a rocking good time as we finish off the old year with one of our new members.
