It is off-season etc...so somebody stops by to probably read this board for info on Stemler, ....that person has a subscription article and posts it as a courtesy. Simple....end of discussion." I really didn't think posting information that you guys would be interested in was a big deal but apparently to some it is? I just thought you guys would be interested in knowing that MU and Slu had some new competition for Stemler. I don't make a habit of posting here and I am certainly not obsessed with SLU. I may be obsessed with Wisconsin however =). If we don't land Stemler I hope he goes to SLU. Take care.
  2. Indiana has now offered and Lance will visit there after his trip to St Louis. From an article by Russ Blake dated today: In between personal workouts and those in front of college coaches, he's fielded a ton of phone calls from admiring suitors. He's formed some definite opinions about the schools in hot pursuit. "Marquette and Nebraska were the first two big schools to come after me and build a strong relationship," Stemler said. "I've spoken to Coach Crean and got to see the way they play on TV, and I think they see me fitting in there like Steve Novak did." Stemler also cited a strong relationship with the coaching staff at St. Louis. If staying close to home becomes a top priority, then the Billikens could steal Stemler away from the plethora of high major programs now trying to sign him. "Basically, I am looking for a place where I can fit in," Stemler said. "I am the type of player who needs to be in a structured system to excel." "Above all," he concluded, "I just have to make sure it's the right fit
  3. I agree that the 5 second call was unusual in last minute situation. I'm sure I would feel like you guys do if that call was made against MU. As far as the fouls you will get no sympathy from me. I saw NUMEROUS fouls on St Louis yesterday they were not called. Merrit was hacked a number of times. Jackson had position on a play that was called a block. Fouls ended up pretty even which is all you can ask on the road in a conference game.
  4. Just curious. How high was Bryant rated coming out of high school? Do you guys have any other current players that were top 100 guys coming out of high school? Thanks
  5. Marquette fan here Just wanted to give you guys some props. Excellent effort by you guys in a venue that is very tough to win at(1 loss in last 3 years). MU is not the team it was the last 2 years but we still aren't bad. You guys competed hard(as you always do) and just came up a little short. I have no doubt it will be the same type of game when we play the rematch at your place. good game. ps Bryant is one tough SOB. For awhile I wasn't sure if it was Reggie or Kobe =).
  6. Marquette has no scholarships left so although he may have had an offer from MU at one time I highly doubt he has one now. Unless ofcourse he was going to go to prep school and be a 2005 recruit.
