  1. While I'm not a Billiken fan per se, it would sadden me if Travis Ford fails there. I don't know him personally at all, but I've always kind of liked him from his Mizzou days even though he bolted for greener (bluer) pastures and thought he was underrated as a coach at OSU back in Mizzou's Big 12 days. Anyway, good luck the rest of the way. College sports baffles me now with the portal and NIL. Not sure what to make of any of it.
  2. Yes, the hustle was impressive. The shooting was out of their mind, a bit flukish. Merry Christmas, by the way.
  3. This is not good for college basketball or college sports in general, in my opinion. And Karraker doesn't really follow college sports, so I'm not sure where he's coming from with the Mizzou angle, although if you are discussing one local program they seem to have to mention the other for clicks and views. Jeff Gordon somehow earns a paycheck and he's been doing it for years.
  4. In all seriousness, by all accounts he's a fine young man, was a great representative of Mizzou, and I personally enjoyed his game although they were so bad I watched very little this past season. I wish him success.
  5. He's a good pickup for SLU, plus he has recent NCAA tournament experience, which is obviously lacking on SLU's roster.
  6. Yes, I'm sure he will get quite a bit of interest.
  7. Frank Martin was very strong at KSU and had the miraculous FF run at USCe, but that looks like quite a downgrade to me. Turgeon was well over .500 in conference play at Maryland.
  8. Personally I'd take either but Turgeon is a beaker and Jans had a #metoo issue. Mizzou can't touch those. Dumb.
  9. I'd rather have Ford by a bunch. No offense to Gates. Maybe he turns out great. Just shows Mizzou isn't serious about basketball.
  10. I can't speak to the whys and hows of Mizzou and how they do things. Even the Drink football hire was a cluster F, but maybe they got lucky in the end because he seems to be a dynamic recruiter. I thought Ford was a good coach at OSU and the Big 12 is and was a tough league.
  11. The problem is apathy has set in and it's hard to get upset anymore. Maybe we caught lightening in a bottle but more likely he just checked some boxes and was a cheap hire. Really hope he works out.
  12. I was joking obviously, but wish him well. Missouri hasn't been serious about basketball in a long time. It would be fun to have a competitive team again. Anyway, good luck gents. I've always kind of liked Ford, maybe because we are about the same age and I recall seeing him at Fieldhouse in Columbia with a big run DMC like medalion and turtle-kneck sweater with Peeler and the boys back in the day. Dude was a player. And Corey Tate is the best too.
