GOSLU68
Best speed and separation at guard. Change my starters to MR, RA, MY, DR, and AG for the tip off. Anyone but Jolly on tip off. I like AY, too. Going small I give him a lot of minutes. I can't use AG for more than 10 each half and I would give RA ten each half and TL 7 or 8 each half. I have given up on JM for the season except at tip off. He is our best chance at tip off. I thought everyone but Jolly, Manning and MB had decent games today. Take that back Crawford was weak today. DeSmetBilliken
Obviously his performance would've been more meaningful had it led to a win, but I'm happy for Miles. It couldn't have been easy for him to go from a key player on a big-time high school team, his friends going to Duke and Georgetown, and he goes to SLU and ends up riding the pine. I don't know if today's performance is the result of hard work in practice, but I'm glad to see him do well. He seems like a good kid, and I hope we can see him do more of this over the next few years. You have to say, the kid can draw a foul. So what you are saying is you have given up on Manning for the season except for tip off but would like to have Manning out of the starting 5 for tip off, because he is our best chance at tip off? I would think that if you believe he is our best chance at tip off, you would want him in for the tip off, instead of on the bench not starting at tip off. I understand that the tip off is just one possession in a very long game, but if we could have our best chance at winning the tip off in the game, I think we should do so, instead of sitting someone who could get us an extra possession at tip off. Just saying....

That could be. I just notice him drawing a lot of fouls. I have noticed that him and Roby do tend to put a little extra emphasis if an opponent comes near them. Specifically I notice Roby jerking his head back a lot.

samslu
If I remember correctly, almost all of his points when he was MVP of the Illinois state championship game were freethrows. That must be his game.

Just every once in a while. That goes for the whole team except Agbeko. He fakes and gets off a shot in close.

hsmith19
Reynolds' energy on rebounding is probably what I like most about him. With all the talk about mixing up floor combinations, what about trying an all-rebounding lineup (Reynolds, Roby, Yacoubou, Yarbrough, and Agbeko) once in a while? If we could get a few more second chances, maybe we wouldn't look quite as helpless on offense.

We don't have the experience/ability to run through our offense as designed right now so we might as well try to scrap together some points. kmbilliken
It won't happen. It makes too much sense. Yeah, it has about as much of a chance as putting two guys on the lane on offensive free throws.
MB73
that small lineup is good for mini runs, but would be in foul trouble quickly as most teams would take it straight to agbeko & yarborough at the # 5 and the # 4. it is sometimes painful but we need manning or gillmann or jolley there to guard the rim, though we all know none of them are quite dikembe motombo caliber. not yet, anyway. JettFlight5
He's right on the reference that none of our bigs are going to play NBA-caliber defense on the block. I would hope our HC realizes that as well.
papal
I like the way Reynolds sees the court; he even has sense to shoot as shot clock is expiring ( something our senior leadership has failed to do on a number of occasions).

I would hope our HC realizes that as well. They don't play mid major caliber defense on the block. Until SLU finds players who can the team will struggle. Gillmann right is almost useless on defense and rebounding. The same can be said for Jolly and Manning. SLU needs bigs who can bang, rebound, and are a threat to score inside. I see low mid major teams with better rebounders than SLU has. As big as Lancona is, if he made up his mind to play inside and worked hard at it, he could help the team a lot more than he does. I think the key is as of right now for Jolly and Gillman. There were several times yesterday where Jolly or Gillman were in position to defend rebound but they were out muscled. Gotta think this only improves as they add strength.
AlumniFan
If MY knew how to shot fake we'd have a few more wins. That may be the most accurate comment on this board in a while! Needless to say, I agree. Cheaney/Crews needs to work with MY on this big time. That 2/15 performance could have resulted in about 10 free throws.
