  1. Beating Kansas on national TV at home was great. Beating Illinois before about a million people was nice. Beating Missouri at the Dome also was fairly pleasant. I also like Ricky Clemons beating......never mind, that was not a Billiken moment
  2. I have been a big supporter of Coach Pizzotti and was extremely pleased with the progress that she made with previous squads but I really think this kind of crap is embarassing to the school, especially in light of what a FREAKING shambles her current squad is in right now. I wish that she would spend more time looking for a shooting forward who can rebound and less time looking for a man. Maybe rich, eligible men would be more attracted to a coach who could win a GODDAMN home game once in a while. That Mandy Lueking girl who used to play for SLU was a hottie though. I wonder if she can coach.
  3. that the nickname Warriors was tooo politically insensitive so they had to become the Golden *******??? Answer: Marquette 100%
  4. I am a huge SLU soccer fan. I've been a season ticket holder forever. However, I understand why so many people are turned off by it. 1) Players behave like *******. Sorry but its true. How many times have you seen a truly skilled player go down like he was shot in the box trying to draw a penalty kick instead of busting his ASS trying to score? Its utterly pathetic. 2) Players behave like ******* (2). How many times have you seen a player writhing on the ground until his opponent gets a card? Then suddenly, he is all better. 3) Players whine to the refs about everything, nonstop. 4) Keepers screaming at their own defense after a goal. I think they are aware that there was a breakdown. 4) Ties. Come on, play till someone wins! The SLU women last year lost a chance to go to the NCAA Tournament on penalty kicks. THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN. Can you imagine deciding the CUSA Tournament with a game of horse if it was tied at the end of regulation. Soccer will never catch on in the US because of these and other factors. Just because Euros admire pussified behavior doesnt mean that we have to.
  5. get that Tiger jersey that you bought with "Hansborough" stitched on the back fixed. Mizzou - the best First round NIT team money can buy.
  6. Why on earth would we want to travel 800 miles to play an inferior team in a crummy building in front of 1500 people????
  7. This from the Daytona Beach News Journal regarding the recent SLU opponent Savannah State's basketball program. Imagine your coach has his son playing for him. Imagine that the son isnt even enrolled in school. Consider that the coach isnt even let go for this infraction. The coach's quotes in this article are priceless.... News buried in Savannah By GEORGE HANNS Staff Writer Last update: 25 July 2004 Last week Savannah State sent out a press release reporting that the school has submitted the results of an internal investigation involving the eligibility of a men's basketball player. It seems the player had, oops, never registered for classes in the spring. It happens, right? So the press release goes on to say that the school fired its assistant for eligibility and compliance and put its head coach, Ed Daniels Jr., on a two-year probation. The team also must forfeit all games won last season. (Though it doesn't mention that there were only four -- including one over Bethune-Cookman.) The release ends with a quote from the coach: "I deeply regret the error, which is further compounded by the fact that the ineligible player is my son (Jamal Daniels) who lived on campus during the school year. I value each player on my team and worked to treat each player -- including my son -- equally. "In trying to avoid any appearances of favoritism toward my son, I did not request any more of him than I did of the other athletes . . ." Wha, wha, what??? The coach didn't know his own son wasn't going to class? Any classes! Something tells me the sports information folks at Savannah State could find a job over at the Speedway.
  8. http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/sports/colleges/9235345.htm Looks like very big problems at LaSalle
  9. Their is a huge difference between SLU and UNLV. Is their much difference between Paris Hilton and your gutter ###### you talk about. Have you seen the video??
  10. Milwaukee's most accomplished citizen: Jeffrey Dahmer Marquette employed Mike Deane 1982 World Series (ha ha ha) Havent seen the Brewers in the playoffs since. Great AAA team you have there. Head coach purchased a home game last year and THEN LOST IT!!! (ha ha ha)
  11. Sounds like he has a strong family. That bodes well for him as a student athlete. Thank god we dont all have to admit all the the AMAZINGLY stupid things we did when we were Tommy's age. If we were lucky enough we had the support of our families to help us out.
  12. "this young man" is probably a little better way to word that
  13. After reading all of Woolard's comments about what an amazing opportunity USF is, I think it is clear that he must go regardless of USF decision. He clearly doesnt want to be here. At a time when raising money for a new arena should be the main focus of his job, he is in Tampa, kissing butts. USF facts: A football team that will never get any better than they are right now, mid-level CUSA. Despite what is common belief, their attendance is awful and if Woolard thinks they will ever be able to recruit with the likes of UF, FSU and Miami, he is kidding himself. A basketball team that doesnt draw flies that will be beaten up badly in the Big East. No more Tulane's and Southern Miss's to steal a few conference wins. USF is much better than SLU in some lesser sports: Baseball, Volleyball, Track, Softball. Not as good in Soccer and WHoops. If you think SLU doesnt get much attention in the media, USF's situation is a whole lot worse. USF is an inferior academic institution. They let anyone in who has a pulse. It is a monstrously large commuter school with very low academic standards. They have stars on their faculty such as Islamic Terrorists. So enjoy Doug! I hope you get the gig. If not, I think it is time for you to pack up your things and go anyway.
