  1. Yeah, but we were paying Ford $2.5 million. I don’t know this for certain, but I’d imagine that you potentially back yourself into a corner when you have that track record of paying Ford what they did.
  2. Of course they assumed that. And there’s probably a better than 50-50 chance that someone has or or will soon receive an angry message that this was shared publicly.
  3. @billikenfan05 jokingly said that he himself, not Schertz, was holding out for a P5. Nothing to see here. Nobody is saying credibly that Schertz is looking elsewhere .The only comment was a misunderstanding of a joke.
  4. Exactly. You do the job you’re currently doing. Just like Travis Ford spoke with the media, including his “I Have a Plan” interview with Kilcoyne, talking about NIL, recruiting, etc, even after he was informed that he was being fired. Heck, I think he talked about recruiting on his Sunday morning radio hit after he had cleaned out his office.
  5. I may listen later to see if any of the ranting is amusing. I assume that it’s a mix of him still upset that his friend Travis got fired, and that his choice of Ahearn isn’t getting hired. Also, SLU doesn’t like getting scooped, so if he’s on the radio trying to say that Schertz isn’t getting hired, which is what I read that he was doing, there’s a good chance that he’s running interference on Chris May’s behalf. Remember, this is the same operation that when news broke 8 years ago that SLU was hiring Ford, they denied it for 1-2 days and then announced that they were hiring Ford.
  6. Not impressed. Didn’t go to DeSmet. Seriously though, I’m ecstatic. As it became apparent that a coaching change was likely to happen, I started looking into possible new coaches. Schertz went to the front of the group pretty quickly and in the last few weeks became my first choice.
  7. That’s a small price to pay for Frank Cusumano to keep his primo access.
  8. They have to let Jon Rothstein sell these shirts and make gratuitous social media posts about them: https://shop.collegehoopstoday.net/collections/signature/products/owns-march
  9. I can’t see it because I’m blocked, but my understanding is that he deleted the tweet with the “Frankly Speaking “ video. That video may have been removed from the KSDK website as well. Maybe there’s another reason for it, but I speculate that Frank found out that Blake isn’t as interested in the job as he was told by his “source.”
  10. I didn’t have space in the tweet to include that. Probably for the best though. It would be a bit awkward if I was criticizing the Ahearn suggestion because it’s dumb to hire coaches only because they’re from St. Louis, only for him to later start pushing me for the job because I also went to DeSmet and have been to a basketball game before.
  11. The “Exhibit A” was his video pushing Ahearn for SLU. Really vicious stuff.
  12. I don’t think that I’ll be missing out on a bunch of inside information, but Frank Cusumano just blocked me on Twitter for criticizing his suggestion of Ahearn as a candidate for SLU coach.
  13. NMSU is playing in the D2 NCAA tournament. Doubt there would be an announcement until they’re done.
