Recruit (1/7)

  1. Not sure if this has been posted on here yet, but former Billiken Luke Meyer has signed to play with the Geraldton Buccaneers in Australia. Luke has put in a lot of hard work and certainly deserves this.
  2. I thought the Billikens played extremely well, it was a good road win and hopefully we can keep it up against the tough Dayton Flyers. I just wanted to point out that Luke played a excellent game with 18 points and 6 rebounds and countless hustle plays. I just wanted to mention that I find it interesting that if Tommie or Kevin have a game like that it is thought of as a "coming out" game from Majerus's system, but Luke has been putting up consistent games all year long and not getting much mention on this board. I don't want to start an arguement because I realize that Tommie and Kevin are feature players but I just hope that everyone out there realizes what Luke brings to this team and that I feel it will be greatly missed next year.
  3. thanks a lot for the info, I appreciate it
  4. I am aware of that, but this is a away game, and I recall it was not available for the Kent State game which was an away game.
  5. I was just curious if anyone knew whether or not there would be gametracker available for the game tonight? I recall last week that I needed to use the Kent State gamtracking system in order to see what was happening.
  6. Does anyone else feel that Luke is a perfect senior leader? I realize that he is not the most talented player on the team, but I feel that he is the perfect senior leader that will help make this team reach their potential. And by the way he is not a slouch on the stats early in the season, he is leading the team in rebounds and helping out in the all popular point statistics.
  7. I didn't get the chance to watch the game since I am in Cape Girardeau, but I was curious if Luke looked good in the second half? I happened to watch the game on game tracker, and i saw that luke only had 2 in the first half and ended up with 15. I was just curious if he took over the 2nd half or just happened to get his points like he always does by picking his spots. Thanks for the information, I am just curious to see if played really well the 2nd half of just fell into 13 2nd half points....Thanks a lot, I appreciate any info given..
  8. If you have paid any attention at all the games you have attended, you would have noticed that when Luke goes to the bench the team always gives up big runs and the offense falls way out of wack. Luke helps control the team and is the leader on the floor. When you throw someone like JJ in there the defense struggles more than when Luke is in there. I would rather have to have a guard sag in on Lukes man than have an opposing 4 have an easy 2 points while being guarded by JJ. Just because JJ or AK are bigger than Luke doesnt make them a better defender.
  9. I understand that Tommie is far and beyond the best player on the team, but I was just curious who all is your favorite players on the SLU basketball team. Personally, I love watching Kevin when he is playing defense and Tommie is very smooth with the ball, but I really enjoy watching Luke out there. He always seems to be hustling and in the right spot. Overall, I guess I would say that Luke Meyer is my favorite SLU basketball player right now (even though I am WELL aware that he is not the best player on the team).
  10. Is it just a misprint that we play Houston twice this year? If not I am very confused why we would schedule a non-conference team twice in one season? Does anyone have in info on this?
  11. Just because Ian blocks or alters a lot of shots does not mean he is defending the post. He is go at sliding over and helping out, but how many times have you seen him let his man get position and catch the ball low in the post for an easy two points? Thats my only problem with Ian's post defense. He is a great shot blocker, but I would like it a lot more if he didn't play for the blocks. He may block 1 out of 3 lay ups, but that is still allowing 4 points.
  12. Luke is playing extremley well this season. Does anyone else feel like he is flying under the radar? He is averaging almost 10 points per game and 6 or 7 rebounds yet you never see him being talked about. He is also the teams top post defender, maybe besides Ian, and can go outside the lane and play defense as well. It seems like JJ is being talked about more than Luke and I was just curious why that is. I am a JJ fan, but I was just wondering why he is talked about more than Luke. Thanks
