  1. Does SLU have any remaining scholarships to hand out for next year?
  2. I was not at the game. My comments were not made about this specific game. They were comments about careers.
  3. I'll agree with you to a degree. The SI article with the "meddlesome father" paragraph probably did cause great hurt to Liddell and his family. Though Majerus obviously didn't write the article, he should have shown more discretion in the interview process. But, I also strongly disagree with you on being "puzzled" by what has happened in the careers of Liddell and Lisch. Liddell and Lisch, particularly Liddell, have been vastly over-rated since Day 1. They aren't great players - good players YES, great NO - AND their suppporting cast for much of their 4 years has clearly not been good, which is why they never played in the postseason. I think fans expected too much out of Tommie and he's just not a great, 'take the game over' type player. He has some obvious strengths, but he has obvious weaknesses too. He is a guard with more turnovers than assists for his career (AND THAT WAS THE CASE BEFORE MAJERUS TOOK OVER AS WELL). Liddell was a victim of inflated expectations. As for Lisch, although overall a better player than Liddell, he is not a GREAT player either. I think Lisch could have thrived in a system like Carbondale's Justin Dentmon is thriving for UW. Dentmon may be 1st-team all-Pac 10 this year, and all he is asked to do is hit 3s and free throws, dish the ball to Brockman and play defense. I think Lisch could have found a similar niche on a very good team. But Lisch had no Brockmans, Isiah Thomas on his team at SLU, and thus, he was the main focus of the oppositon's game plan, and often struggled. As for the future of SLU basketball, I'm excited about it. Majerus is a proven winner, and has a winner in Mitchell at point guard and Reed at power forward, and by most accounts, a very solid recruiting class coming in next year. I like what he has done so far. They are 2 years away from being a really good team. While last night might have been tough, it was the end (well Wednesday or Thursday will likely be the end) of an era, not just the Liddell/Lisch era, I'm talking about a 10-year era since Highmark and Claggett graduated, and I'm glad to close the book on it.
  4. I click on that link but the game does not come on. I hit 'play' and it does not come on. Anything I am missing?
  5. At least the game is on TV. Only 2nd time I've seen the Billikens all year.
  6. Proof of Life. Most promising performance by SLU in a LONG....LONG... time. We finally have a roster of legitimate D1 players, playing together, and playing a brand of basketball worth watching. The kids actually looked like they were having fun out there.
  7. That's the best 10 minutes of basketball I've seen SLU play in a LONG time.
  8. Someone said SIU basketball was "junk". It's such junk they make the NCAA tourney 2 out of every 3 years. What about SLU basketball? We have been talking about these boring Billikens 50 point games for several years now. Even that 46-45 win over Charlotte a few years ago was boring. Keep the series alive.
  9. > >the truth is, if they leave, they will become insignificant >to the st louis area compared to the basketball heros they >could become to st louis if they play for the billikens. I don't always agree with you Roy, but I'm with you 100% on that observation.
  10. Heck of a house, but good luck getting $1.7 million for it in today's market. Just out of curiosity, what did Soderberg make per year as SLU's coach?
  11. I know San Diego State is trying to get SLU to play at SDSU this year, perhaps in a tourney, and then San Diego State would come to play at SLU the following year.
  12. Who do we play? I assume SIU is one of the teams, but how about the remainder?
