Recruit (1/7)

  1. Lemoyne did win the NCAA DII Lacrosse championship last year. Maybe SLU Lacrosse gets on the map.
  2. I will agree it is a small sample size, but we can only go on what has occurred.
  3. Well, I guess we will see if he can rebound. That seems to be his Achilles heel. 179 minutes and 29 rebounds to Berry who had 23 in 90 minutes. I like Lacona too, but the kid is going to be a Rob Loe, not an under the basket banger. Why waste his shooting ability by sticking him on the blocks?
  4. Yikes, you make him sound like a Viagra commercial. "You've reached the age when giving up isn't who you are, this is the age of knowing how to make things happen." There is also a lot to be said from a marketing aspect with a young, dynamic coach...or one that is seen as one of the best bball minds ever, albeit kind of crazy (RM). Milk toast doesn't get you very far from a "buzz" perspective.
  5. Wow, can you blame them?? "Attendance for last Sunday’s championship game between VCU and Saint Joseph’s was 8,886, less than half the building’s normal capacity."
  6. Looks like Butler is reeling. "Berry becomes the fourth Bulldog player to transfer from the program since November and the second – along with Devontae Morgan – to do so since the season ended two weeks ago."
  7. I'd agree with you, but he is from Madison, WI. Marq has not been shy about paying their coaches well, so I'd expect a big offer. Should be interesting.
  8. Kind of sounds a bit like this kid - Majerus said he was the only coach to offer Conklin, from Eugene, a scholarship. The player made all-conference, plays for a team with a 24-6 record, and is getting it done in the classroom, too. I'll take him.
  9. Glaze will not get cut. Can we please move on from that?
  10. I will take anything we can get from a press perspective, but I never got the feeling that Timmermann liked (or likes) covering the Bills. His reports are about as exciting as the back of a shampoo bottle. Even when interviewed about the team, he seems aloof and kind of like he drew the short straw over at the PD sports department.
  11. Oh, and I also love how you folks think that St. Louis is some sort of a destination city for star basketball players.
  12. You folks are nuts if you don't think that we could use him. Also, as far as the Butler choice, why are you knocking a kid who wasn't even recruited by SLU? Brad Stevens was a dynamic young talent that had a great recruiting ability. I also tried to follow Berry's career at Butler but to no avail. I love the way everyone thinks that our talent level at the bigs is set. That is laughable. So, you're good with John Manning (likeable, but not very mobile, and foul city) Grandy Glaze (the hardest working man in show business - unfortunately not really a scoring option), Tanner Lancona (will probably grow into a good player, but just don't see him banging down low), Austin Gillman (someone give me a sandwich because I am going to get hammered - or better yet, redshirt me), and Brett Jolly (will be great from the outside, and also still needs time to grow). Berry would be a great get. The kid is a competitor, a Jesuit, and could be another big in the Conklin mold. I'll take him any day.
  13. After the game, Coach K was quoted as saying, "Did I say too many Atlantic 10 teams in the tournament, I meant too many Atlantic Sun teams in."
