I'd love to see this happen.

I'd like to see the Bills schedule an annual Texas two-step with SFA/Rice/Houston/A&M/Baylor/TCU in the mix. Maybe even SMU or UNT for Jolly to get a game close to home. Fertile recruiting land is Texas. I'm sure even Shaka would want to get back in touch with us eventually.

You know something, you're right. I'm going to just hop in the car and head on over there. I booked a room at the Knight's Inn - got an upgrade by using Bizzle's frequent guest card, so I'm golden.

The fine ladies at the KI will make sure you're golden from what bizzle tells me.

New Mexico would be a good one. Coach Harriman is there now.

The season ticket invoice came today. The cover letter said we were playing SIU and Wichita at home. It has been established that we are playing at SIUE so I guess that means we are playing SIUC at home. Which is odd since we played SIUC at home last year.

Only other explanation is that we are playing two games against SIUE this coming year. Or that the cover letter was a mistake.

I hope not about SIUE - one hit on the RPI is enough - why double down. The SIUC thing could just be a scheduling thing - not unusual to switch order.

http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/2015/06/23/ball-state-2015-16-schedule-mens-basketball-utah-buyout/29150017/

Since the contract was signed for the 2-for-1 deal that would bring Utah's men's basketball team to face Ball State at Worthen Arena, it had often been cited as a source of pride for the Cardinals program looking forward.

That game was scheduled for the coming season, but it will not come to pass.

A week ago, Utah released its non-conference schedule with Ball State absent, and Monday, the Ball State athletic department confirmed the Utes had bought out the game.

The original contract, signed in summer of 2013, called for Ball State playing at Utah in 2013 and 2014, with a return trip to Muncie in 2015. Ball State was set to receive $65,000 for the balance of the contract, and $30,000 more were added in 2014, when that year's game was moved from Dec. 20 to Nov. 18.

According to the contract, the cost for Utah to buy out the final game was $125,000. Utah won both games of the series, 90-72 (in 2014) and 88-69 (in 2013).

On the day the game was scheduled, Utah will host IPFW. The Utes non-conference schedule will include eight home games, mostly against smaller or regional schools, with a few high-profile road trips in Duke, Wichita State and a tip-off tournament in Puerto Rico.

Ball State has not officially announced its non-conference slate, but according to contracts received via public record request, that schedule should include the following (dates per original contracts):

• Eastern Illinois (Nov. 16)

• At Eastern Kentucky Tournament (Nov. 20-22, three games, field: EKU, Longwood, South Carolina State)

• Pepperdine (Dec. 12)

• Chicago State (Dec. 31)

Utah gave up on the Ball St Majerus series. We should start one up with them.

Ball State has had only a couple of seasons above .500 the past dozen years. Why do you want a series with them? Unless you meant we should start up a series with Utah. If so, that seems a long trek for nonconference home and home.

Huh?

We should want to play a home and home with any power 6 team that will play us. Once the distance is far enough to get on a plane it doesn't really matter how far it is.

I understand why we would want to start a home and home with anybody that could upgrade our schedule. But what's in it for Utah? It's not like they recruit out here. If you look at their non-conference schedule from last year, the only time they ventured beyond the West Coast was to play a top 10 team. They can find a top 150 team who will come to their place without requiring a return game.

We have a better chance of scheduling a school like Utah State home and home than Utah. They were willing to roll the dice and play Illinois State and Mississippi State on the road last year. I believe last year was the end of their home and home with Mississippi State.

Starting a series with Utah isn't realistic. I think everyone gets it. But people post a lot of unrealistic things about scheduling on this board. I would simply never say that playing a home and home with any power 6 team is too far to travel which is how you made it sound.

I'm all for home and homes with the likes of ball st as long as we continue series with Rockhurst and the like. A

Majerus event for a couple years against a school in a state we actively recruit would be a good thing.

I'm not sure if this has been posted since confirmation of the Louisville game Thanksgiving weekend in Brooklyn by CBS' Jon Rothstein, but we have some additional sources and information on the game now. Per the Louisville Courier-Journal, the game is a part of an exempt event that will give SLU the following schedule in November:

Nov. 14-24 - Columbia, Hartford, opponent TBA* (3 Brooklyn Hoops Classic Home Games)

Nov. 27 - Louisville (Barclays Center, Brooklyn)

http://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/college/louisville/2015/06/29/louisville-basketball-close-to-completing-2015-16-schedule/29460653/

*"The Brooklyn Hoops Classic contract stipulates that Louisville's third home opponent, which hasn't been finalized, must have ranked better than 200 in last season's final RPI." Based on the event format, that team would be SLU's other home opponent as well.

Also, my guess for the third home opponent with the sub-200 RPI will be someone like St. Francis-Brooklyn (RPI 165, 23-12 last year, not committed to an exempt event yet) that is in the northeast since the three mid-majors will all play each other in a round-robin type format for their remaining two games on their home floors outside of their road trips to STL and Louisville.
