  1. Any word on what SLU will use West Pine for after the new arena is built? Will other sports such as volleyball continue to use the old facility?
  2. What happened to this guy? I did think he looked ok when we were pressing late in the game, but for the most part he just looks clueless. Was it wrong to think we had something in DB?
  3. According to ESPN Crean is a top candidate for the OSU opening. Anyone fear that if this happens Brad could be a candidate to return to his home state?
  4. SLU makes it in as number 2. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...urprise/winners
  5. This from an ESPN article: Brandon Morris, a junior college transfer, has led the Phoenix from the point guard position and is averaging a team-high 11.5 points per game. Kowalczyk acknowledged that it's difficult for a newcomer to lead a team, but that Morris' personality is infectious and he gets his teammates to play hard. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/columns/stor...jeff&id=1708509
  6. I happened to notice in the attached ESPN link that near the end they mention other schools that could still switch conferences. One that caught my attention was Temple possibly going to CUSA. This makes no sense to me, why would they possibly want to make such a move? I guess if they have a football program that would be the reasoning, but I think Temple definitely is more a basketball school. I doubt this will happen but was a surprise to see it mentioned. Regardless, I'd hate to lose them from the A-10 as they bring quite a bit of name recognition. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/columns/stor...andy&id=1706756
  7. Why the ##### instead of using Missavage's first name? Also, for those of you who have been following the program for a while can you tell me why Missavage didn't get more playing time. I would assume talent level versus conflict with the coach, but I do remember that he was quite a player on a really good high school team.
  8. Lisch is a senior over at Belleville Altoff? Who is recruiting him besides SLU and what are our chances?
  9. Just wondering what the thoughts were regarding who will run the point next year after Fish is gone? Will it be Polk as a freshman or AD, or...?
  10. Attached is a link that SLU has bought the Waring School property on Compton. I have heard this is where the university has decided upon for the location of the new arena, and that the tennis courts will have to be destroyed and some of Grand Forest. Better than destroying the baseball and softball fields in my opinion. In some ways this is better than the Grand Center location, as its closer to and more visible from Highway 40. Though I think it would have helped the efforts going on in Grand Center. http://www.bizjournals.com/stlouis/stories...tml?jst=b_ln_hl
  11. Here's the link. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/columns/stor...andy&id=1655559
  12. Don't guess there's any way the arena brochure could be scanned and posted on this website?
  13. SLU is an private, urban university which makes it a much better fit with the A-10. Also, the MVC has no schools with any kind of national reputation athletically or academically. Every kid has at lesast heard of Temple, Xavier, and UMASS (thanks to Calipari). Who outside of the midwest has ever heard of any of the MVC schools? And as has been mentioned on this board several times, assuming our presence in the A-10 or MVC will help our recruiting in the areas these conferences are located, would you rather attract plyers from Omaha and Des Moines or Philadelphia, etc?
  14. This article presents some scenarios that are quite troublesome for SLU and CUSA. Sounds like the Big East intends on raiding CUSA, no mention of any possibility of the Catholic/basktball only conference. Hope it doesn't shake out this way. http://espn.go.com/ncaa/news/2003/0611/1566706.html
