Recruit

Recruit (1/7)

  1. Stallings would be ideal. He has won at a University that prides itself on academics, he has recruited great players in a very tough conference with schools that clearly don't share Vanderbilt's entrance requirements, and he can flat out coach. Now, please tell me why in the hell would he ever want to come here? Vanderbilt stands above SLU in every measurable category. His family has long since moved or passed away so the local attraction is not there. With all that being said, I am all in for making a run at Kevin Stallings, but it's not going to happen.
  2. No question ESL has D-1 talent, no question it is a place that a guy like Tony Young can change lives. The question is weather he will be allowed to do that. For some reason they allow their football coach to do whatever he wants, while holding the basketball coach accountable for everything. At East Side winning trumps everything...and I mean everything!
  3. No doubt! Roy is correct to in that Munson has D-1 talent.
  4. It's been a while since ESL has turned out any D-1 players of note. I do recall the kid SLU signed that couldn't play, but can't think of any others recently. East Side is not the hot bed of hoops it once was.
  5. Ellis just landed in Australia and is trying out this week. He posted that he was very honored and excited for the opportunity. I looked on their site and it didn't look like he was among the original 20 invited. But he is now. Good luck to Cody!
  6. News Conference is set for noon today to make the announcement. Great news!
  7. It would be a complete shock to me if East went out of District for this hire. They have several excellent candidates, with current assistant TJ Posey as the guy I would guess gets the job.
  8. Clagget and Tatum are both rumored as the front runners for the East St. Louis job as well.
  9. Curious as to how many orders you had? It is a very cool t-shirt!
  10. When a kid is 1st team All-State in Illinois and verbals to U of I after receiving offers and interest from most of the top programs in the country, you shouldn't need DaLove to tell you he can help us. Hill would take us to the elite level IMO, not only because of his talent, but I think other top St. Louis kids would then see SLU as a viable option. Get one local star and the ball may start rolling our way.
  11. Not at all. I saw Hughes play in high school. I just don't see Hill being a lottery pick after his freshman year like Hughes.
  12. Believe it! Roy is spot on. Hill reminds me a lot of Hughes, with the exception that he isn't a one and done. Hill needs development time, where Hughes did not. Roy would agree, but state that Hill is a year younger than his classmates. This kid could take us to the top 10 and be another RM Academic All American. A perfect fit for SLU! Wish his brother needed a heart
  13. I'd go with Donnie Dobbs, who was smaller and better than Conklin.
