I'm always a little wary of a guy who commits pretty much immediately after getting an offer. Between that and some serious mixed reviews on this guy, it'll definitely be a wait and see approach. He's a scorer though and we can't score.

I haven't seen the kid play, not even YouTube highlights, so I can't really comment on his ability. If Twitter is to be believed, he was a high priority recruit for several Valley schools, and was picking up interest from St. Joes and West Virginia.

Also, maybe this will get us in the good graces of Team Ramey, with some of their good younger prospects coming up through the ranks.

Based on what people have said both on the board and off, I'd compare him to a longer, slightly better Bartley with family members that could eventually lead to problems.

Definitely a wait and see type guy. If he puts in the effort on and off the court and isn't influenced by family members, he could be a steal.

What are some of the family concerns? I have been out of the loop.

No disrespect to this kid, but it is a little disheartening to go from battling Duke for a recruit to beating Eastern Illinois for a recruit. I have been a supporter of Crews to date, but I feel like we are back to a Soderberger kind of level of recruits.

His offer list wasn't the most impressive but the interest picked up significantly in recent weeks. I guess now we'll never know if some of the SEC, Big 12, and Big 10 schools actually would've offered, though.

Some thought he and his dad might've been waiting for the best offer. We're it so far, but with this quick commitment, they were clearly waiting for this and not a 'bigger' one. His dad is the coach at Riverview Gardens, so now he'll get to see a lot of his games. Traveling after Friday night HS games to Saturday college games is tricky, if he'd gone somewhere else.

Which brings me to the 'family concerns' mentioned earlier - dad is, from what I'm told, the next coming of Kevin Slaten when it comes to bad sports dad issues.

Seems like a definite reach/desperation move this early in the process but at least we landed a guy I guess? One more scholarship to give not counting potential transfers so hopefully we land someone who was one of our top targets and not a guy we offered two days ago.

I think we've all learned to take a wait and see approach on all of our recruits so who knows about this kid.

Awesome, also he retweeted this.

West Virginia may have offered 2016 6-6 PG Zeke Moore. Working to confirm. Illinois State has recruited Moore extremely hard. #REDBIRDhoops

His dad is a great Twitter follow. He spells every name just a little bit wrong and for some dumb reason it just cracks me up.

Got another win tonight at Sodan 54-53! It was tough! Much respect to Sodan it was a heart breaker for Coach Whitney and the Sodan Tiger.

I didn't realize SLU was such a big name on the recruiting trail that 6'6 guards who can handle and shoot are considered a reach.
