Chaifetz fourth in the A10 behind UD, VCU and the Bonnies (???? -- really?). I think the write up is pure crap .... SLU receives unanimous support from St. Louis as the only college game in town, but it's some throw-away off season stuff. Heaven forbid we talk about nitwit gurus and preseason prognostication articles any more.

The Fed Ex Forum at #3? Hilarious. Yeah, it is on one of the very best possible lots in downtown Memphis. But it sucks as an NBA venue and sucks even worse for college basketball. You're so far away from the court it reminds me of watching baseball in the Astrodome.

I never really buy into the whole "not a bad seat in the whole stadium/arena" type of talk in that the worst seats in EVERY stadium/arena really are bad seats but Chaifetz compared to UD Arena is no comparison. Yes, UD holds 3,000 more seats the worst seat a Chaifetz is much, much better than the worst seat at UD. If I recall correctly, UD holds around 13,500 or so whereas Chaifetz around 10,600. Even so, seat # 10,600 at Chaifetz is much better than seat # 10,600 at UD!!. After the "lower bowl" 6,000 seats or so at UD, their seating just gets worse and worse. For instance, UD has very few seats behind their baskets and almost no seats in their "corners". Instead, the bulk of their seats are courtside but extend way, way high up, I would much rather be in a seat behind the basket or in the corner but closer to the action than on the sidelines way, way up and in the dark -- they darken the lighting in the upper seating to help view the court from such far distances.
