SOPHOMORES READY TO TAKE NEXT STEP

Very nice. Can you do something similar for all the classes?

Planning to do it with the juniors for sure. Not sure about the seniors since it's just Ash and don't know if I can get enough info from the freshmen but I will try.

Can you follow-up with the coaches on the different sets in the playbook mentioned by Jolly in your blog? And ask the coaches how exactly will the team have a different look like Jolly states? Maybe as part of a broader piece where you seek the staff's input on the upcoming season?

I will do my best. Hoping to speak to some people at the open practice but I obviously don't expect to get too much detail on the strategy side of things. At least hoping for a broad sense such as (might play some zone, more off-ball screens, smaller lineups, etc)

Understood and agreed. Hopefully, they'll provide something more than just "playing to our players' strengths."

Yarbrough may be able to play the 3, but we still don't have any great answers at the 4. Agbeko improved a lot down the stretch, but it's not like he's giving us 40 minutes at the 4 even if he continues to improve.

The biggest problem with the roster is the parts don't come together to form an ideal rotation. A lot of 2/3 types, but lacking solid options at 1,4 and 5. Yourborough is going to have to put time in at the 4.

I feel like the 3 players that deserve the most time all play the same position (Yacoubou, Roby, Crawford). All have clear limitations but they're probably our best offensive players and for a team that finished 317th in offense per kenpom, I'd probably make an effort to get them out there. Really hope we don't experiment with a 12 man rotation early in the year again. Everyone will probably play early against the bad teams, but I'd hope that between the Bahamas trip and early practices that we can find a good rotation early. I'm counting Jolly and Welmer as non factors. That gives us 10 guys. Then basically just Reynolds and Bishop battle it out for the final spot in the rotation.

Moy says no contributions from Welmer. That I believe some.

johnjb14 says Agbeko is already our four. That I'll believe when I see it.

Funny how things go ...................
