Just to add on, this is off of todays Bandwagon on Courtney Stockard " Although not a frosh, of the newcomers it looks like Stockard will end up with the most PT by year's end."

Ya can't fault the kid for going to Bonas - its nice, its peaceful and its quiet. Plus the Bonnies need all the help they can get.

If true JC will be fired. Hopefully, the AD will be able to decide quickly on when to cut the line and to start back channel inquiries for a new coach. This record even if there are no blow outs would be terrible.

North Florida, Indiana State, Duquesne on the road and St. Joes are the toss-up games we have to have to insure a winning season. With Elliot Welmer shocking everyone with his skill level, I say we get there.

We should be able to beat ISU. Can't really argue with any of these other losses, which means plenty of room to be pleasantly surprised.

Also, since he says SLU "will play its exhibition game Nov. 10 against UMSL at 7," that seems to suggest there will only be one. Which makes sense, based on the number of home games. Has another closed-door scrimmage been confirmed or was that just speculation?

Two schedule-related tweets from Stu:

@studurando: St. Louis University will play its closed preseason scrimmage on the road against Illinois State.

@studurando: SLU coach Jim Crews had planned to start practice today but opted to wait until Thursday in order to front load the preseason with off days.

Maybe i'm missing something, but wouldn't you want to start sooner rather than later if you're going to front load the preseason with off days?

Good scouting opp for Chris May, ISU coach could be a good one from what I've read

If you want a guy who cycles through troubled players, has little in game coaching ability, and hasn't been to the tournament at all - then yes he would be a good one.

Muller is more likely to be fired at ISU at this point than he is to move up a level.

So the rule now is that you can start practicing 42 days before your first regular season game. For SLU, whose first game is on 11/15 vs. Hartford, this means they could've started practicing this past Sunday, 10/4.

The other half of the rule is that you can only practice on 30 of those 42 days - in other words, an average of 5 days a week for 6 weeks.

Crews has chosen to skp the first 4 days and basically make it 30 of 38 days, so they'll probably start with a couple 5 day weeks and then go 6 days a week after that. That's my guess.

At first, I was a little thrown off, too, but this makes sense with a team trying to get to full strength, and maybe putting in a little more work the last couple weeks prior to the season. I also don't mind them getting into a little more of a rhythm with the classroom routine before starting full practices. So it makes sense to me, on paper.

(This rule is only a couple years old; it used to be a standard date in October on which all teams could start practicing, which gave rise to the Midnight Madness trend.)
