  1. Guys, all of us need to pay attention to this ruling., This is a case of BCS vs non BCS. What happened in this case was the clearing house cleared Rose to play, after the season was over they asked sent a letter to Rose asking him about the SAT test he took in Detroit, when he didn't respond, the NCAA invalidated the test without verifying if he took the test or not. When they invalidated the test they declared he was ineligible and therefore memphis used an ineligible player. There was never any discussion as to whether or not there was improprites or not just that he was ineligible., OK, why is this a BCS vs a non BCS? Think of this When Cory Magette took money from an agent for Duke, the NCAA let it die with no penalties. When it was proven that a Kansas player had grade changes in High School so he could play for Kansas, the NCAA said it happened before he went to Kansas even though he should have been declared ineligible and the season vacated for Kansas. Think about the problems at USC, what has become of them, allegations there were much more serious then using a player that the NCAA already deemed eligible. Remember the problems at Ohio State for paying a player, a slap on the wrist , no talk of vacating games in that case., If by chance SLU gets a player approved by the NCAA and subsequently they decide he was ineligible, we would get the same penalty or maybe worse.
  2. What happens in the locker room, stays in the locker room. If you want to berate a player, you do it in private not in front of a room full of people.
  3. You can blame KL or you can look at the coach. You can't lay all of his problems at the feet of the players.
  4. Being able to schedule super home games will come in time, No big name schools, at this point want to play in St Louis except if they are recruiting. This is a place were they can come and get beat and at this stage it does not look good on there resume. When the Bills return to the top 20 on a regular basis it will be much easier to schedule, by then TV will want those games because of RM. So just remain patient and it will happen.
  5. BTW Roy, A coach that wins at UMASS and Memphis a total of over 400 games has got to be able to coach. I am happy for Memphis because I think it means more respect for a conference like the A 10 and may help more then one team get into the tournament in the future. If Memphis wins then the comittee will have to look at more teams in non BCS leagues.
  6. Roy, I realize that you don't like Calipari, but if there is a team in the top four we should be pulling for to win the whole thing it is Memphis. It will be much easier for the A10 to get respect and every other non BCS school should be pulling for Memphis to win. I know they have my vote to win it all for the rest of us.
  7. For those that never saw Ike Turner play at a local club, you really missed a show. I can remember those shows like it was yesterday, theyb were something to see.
  8. This year is just the start with season tickets. Winning will create the new interest and the new ticket sales for the new building.
  9. The problem you run into by not recognizing a verbal even if the kid wants to back out is, suppose one of your commits is wanted by SIU, we take a kid that they recruited and got a verbal from, then they will try to work one of ours hard. Do you think that Illinois will ever honor a verbal from Indiana again?
  10. If Hansbrough would have signed with the Bills, he would have been a 20+ point a night scorer, and would have pulled down 10+ rebounds. The way I look at rating a class is if you sign someone capable of scoring. Then to me that class would have been an A class becuase you have someone capable of stepping in and getting those numbers. When you sign people that are capable of coming in and Scoring 15+ points a night. then you have a a B class. The North Carolina's of the world can have an A class not because the people they bring in score 20+ points a night, but they have the capabilites of doing it in their first year. Damn guys I am not saying we signed a bad class, I expect most of them to come in and play a role this year, I just didn't see them coming in and scoring and rebounding a ton in their freshman year. By the way I thought the Tommie and Kevin Class would have been a B+ Class,
  11. I was talking about having a recruit that can come in and immediately average 20+ points would make your recruiting class an A, not each and every recruit. If you have a recruit that can come in and average 15 plus points a game then you have a B Class, but if the recruits that you bring in cannot give you those immediate stats then you have a class that would rank as a C. That is not to say that a C class is bad, because they may grow into those numbers as time goes on and they get better. But for immediate help that is how I would rank the classes.
  12. I agree, this class would rate an A when it comes to helping us become a major player in the A10. I like the size and the athletic ability the incoming guys will bring.
