Class of 1990's Achievements

Recruit

Recruit (1/7)

  1. Sloppy play, lack of effort, little in the tank, not going to the basket when there are gaps in the defense... It is going to be a long second half of the season.
  2. The level of athleticism from the starters and the beach was at a higher level than I have seen in years. The team showed show weaknesses AND many strengths. Definitely a multidimensional team that can win in a number of ways. Great team effort and fantastic job by Coach Ford. Proud to be a Billiken!
  3. I applaud GloryDays for not accepting the pathetic state of SLU sports marketing. If this has been the norm for 5 plus years or perhaps generations, it does not make it acceptable. Sports marketing bungling effort reflects poorly on the school, the sports teams and the alums. The b-ball team uniforms haven't been updated in years....look like a pee-wee basketball jerseys; The next time I see Dr. Pestello at a social I plan to the general view that SLU sports marketing sucks. Maybe if enough alums voice their opinion, withhold future financial gifts to the University, etc. things will change.
  4. Regarding SD as a good restaurant city....have lived in SD for 5 plus years- fantastic city, but NOT a good restaurant city for its size. Chicago, San Fran, New Orleans and even St Louis are better.
  5. A lot of good information and exchange of the latest in recruiting, particularly by DoctorB, Slufan13, The Chosen One, and of course Pistol. Then along comes jimbofive....did you even go to SLU? You have about as much intelligence as a tick on the ass of a horse.
  6. I agree. To dismiss a young player just because he was associated with a former coach is pretty moronic.
  7. Of the three primary options in play- Ford, Drew and Stallings, Ford appears the most solid. Look at the video of their teams' performance over the last three years. Valpo plays in a second tier conference, Drew has not coached anywhere else and largely performed in the shadows of his dad and brother. To assume he can recruit with the big boys is a big assumption. Stallings, as a coach, blew a number of games at Vanderbilt, whose teams underperformed given their talent level. Oklahoma State competes in a league with Kansas, Baylor, Texas, etc. Yes, they had a bad year this last year, but he has recruited, developed and taken teams to the NCAA tournament.
