I said in the offseason that part of me is glad I'm not local because I don't have to make the difficult decision whether to let the season tickets go or not. Since last season, I've added a new house to the equation along with a new car and now a baby on the way (due early July). I don't think there's any way I'd re-up at this point, given the state of the program. There's just no way to justify the expense.

Well, the Rams ticket manager doesn't have to sell any tickets for a while, and the next time they will have to sell tickets, it will either be in LA or in STL with a better indication that the team is there for the foreseeable future. The SLU ticket manager has to sell tickets to this mess for a few months.

So, at this very moment, I'll go with SLU being the tougher sell.

I still think the most likely scenario is that the Raiders and Chargers get LA and the Rams stay in St. Louis on the year-to-year lease, with everything still up in the air. If that happens, it'll be even tougher to sell those tickets than ones to SLU alums.

-congratulations on the upcoming birth........just don't let it get in the way of your recruiting updates! ;)

At $100/season, I will hold on to my young alumni tickets as long as SLU allows me to renew them at that price (which I think will for the forseeable future). However, I will not upgrade anytime soon and I likely would give them up if I had to pay anymore than what I already do.

Depending on what happens with the coaching situation will be hard to re-up if no significant change is made. At this point, as some have previously said, can't even give tickets and parking pass away.

Because of outside activities unrelated to the putrid nature of the current team I'm going to miss 5 of the final 9 games. Already started working on getting rid of some of these tics but I'm not optimistic.

I know its kind of fun to play the "what if" game but I really don't see any way that Chris May brings Crews back next year. It would be completely indefensible at this point and no way does Crews want his job to be dependent on Crews pulling a miracle by getting us back to respectability next season.

The seating capacity was kept at 10,500 in a metro area of nearly 3 mil with the intention of seats being very difficult to come by.

Now, like many of you, I can't give my seats away to games I am unable to attend. In fact, I don't even ask people if they want them anymore so as to not put them in the awkward position of having to decline.

I don't think that's true. The capacity was reduced as a cost-cutting measure during the design phase. I remember something about single concourse and dual concourse, but I'm too lazy and/or busy to dig out the corroborating news stories.

We have 7 season tickets in my name. No one has been since UT-Martin, and with busy kids' and work schedules I am not sure we will make it a priority to go to more than a few games the balance of the season. The tickets are a sunk cost at this point, but there is just no interest in spending the time and any more money to watch the putrid product Crews has produced. I fear that I am the rule, not the exception. It is very sad.

9 home games left and I have to get rid of my tickets for 5 of them. A lot of it would have been unavoidable given travel, kids games, etc. but I'm certainly making no effort to go to the games whereas a couple years ago I would have moved the entire schedule around to attend the games.

The dual concourse was scrapped and seating capacity was reduced as a result because they forgot to add the cost for the practice facility to the original project cost. If I remember correctly.

That sounds about right

The salient point is that in a metro are of nearly 3 mil with no other division one team, or an NBA team, it is inexcusable that we cannot even GIVE our tickets away.

What is sad is to here this from so many of the long time, very loyal fan base. I haven't had mine for a few years now 4 or 5 as I barely went, but not because I didn't want to. Just to many conflicts with coaching and working Saturdays. The thing is I hated missing the games and went to quite a few (6-8) every year still. I taped every game and couldn't go to sleep after I got home from practice around 9:30 or so until I watched the game, even when I know we lost. Still couldn't sleep until I watched it. Now, I've taped every one, but for the first time in 25 years, I haven't watched many of them. I just erase them with no desire to see the game. I think if Chris May could see this thread with so many long time, rabid fans just saying I don't care anymore ... what would he think?

I'm not sure which thread it's in, but some have e-mailed May and gotten a crafted response. He's aware of the discontent, but whatever he does is going to paint everyone involved in the nicest light. (Surely he realizes, though, that if the season continues to be a disaster and Crews is retained, his own job is likely to be chopped [unless his boss doesn't care about the state of the program -- which is something we don't really know at this time].)

The next Billikens game has always been something that I've looked forward to in my week. Now, it feels more like an obligation. I actually thought I had a scheduling conflict for the game Sunday, and was a little disappointed when I saw that the game was later in the afternoon, alleviating the scheduling conflict.

That's where we are now with this program under Jim Crews.

As a newer fan of only two seasons, I sincerely ask if this is common for SLU to seemingly be this absent minded. It seems that throughout the athletic department there are decisions that are consistently made and little planning goes into them. If this is true, that is unbelievable you can forget an entire chunk of the stadium when calculating cost.

It was an either/or decision. Have a dual concourse structure with 13.5k seating, or a single concourse with 10.5k seats and a full practice facility and offices.
