majerus mojo
I prefer Billiken-branded Trayvon Martins. But anything beats the grown men who feel the need to bust out the godawful, ill-fitting blue checkered pants from when they were undergrads 10 years and 30 pounds ago. I don't understand half this post, but grown men wear what they please
Billiken Law
Can't understand why we're always stuck w/ just 2 unis, same except for home and away. Would like to see a grey/silver home uni and a black for the road added to the wardrobe. Kids go for this stuff these days, but we're too friggin' stuffy. Duquense is fortunate that they're an Adidas school. Adidas is losing market share in college athletics at an alarming rate so they allow even their smaller clients to have more creative control. Meanwhile, Nike has so many schools those like SLU get lost in the mix and get Nike's stock designs. Maybe a reexamining of the contract with Nike is in order. Box and Won
I have been known to wear checkered pants, but I still have a 32-inch waist.
Pistol
Good Tweet by the @SaintLouisMBB account today, giving us a glimpse at a different era uniform: https://twitter.com/SaintLouisMBB/status/656102262020816896 I've never seen that one before, actually. "St. Louis" with the number off to the side and a logo-filled diamond on each side of the shorts (like the Chicago Bulls). Really cool. thetorch
The shorts had the old billiken on them. Those were nice uniforms.
Box and Won
I love these old unis:
Pistol
That's awesome - both the tweak last night and the old photo. I was looking at them last night and knew something was different, but I thought it was maybe just the number font or something like that. Uni Watch retweeted that, by the way. Pistol
The old-school crowned Billiken dotting the i = that's just amazing. And on the shorts, too. What's on the left leg of the shorts? Is that the brand, or what? I can't make out the word, but it looks like an Arch over it.

billikenfan05
I think a fauxback would be fun. New Billiken new script in that uni style.
hsmith19
I can't believe it took them this long to do this. Definitely a step up, even though I prefer the vertical arching on the front. Somebody said at the start of the season we were supposed to finally get a third uniform. Is that still going to happen?

Somebody said at the start of the season we were supposed to finally get a third uniform. Is that still going to happen? Technically, we've worn at least 5 different uniforms this season already. Home whites and away blues before the logo change, then new home and away unis after the logo change, and now the Billikens-scripted one from last night. hsmith19
I never realized they wore blue that dark. Almost black like GW's shade of navy.

Pistol
I never realized they wore blue that dark. Almost black like GW's shade of navy. Really dark blue, but it looks good with a little light on it, like on the right side of the photo. You'll also notice the two-tone blue striping on the sides of the jerseys and shorts, too, offsetting that navy blue with a light blue. Pretty sharp. Good point, although I don't remember a twerking incident from last night. Probably something you'd get a technical foul for, no? How many shots for a twerking tech - 1 or 2? thetorch
That photo is tinged dark or the jersey I have is faded. It is a similar shade to what we wore in the mid 90s, just slightly darker. The 80s uniforms were cool and at the same time very amateurish. From afar the detail is nice but close up the bIlliken heads look really weird. I'm pretty sure we had a local company making the uniforms out of Rawlings and Macgregor stock. I'm pretty sure we had a local company making the uniforms out of Rawlings and Macgregor stock. Oh, no doubt. The framework is there for something neat, but I'm sure they were cheaply made. I was there for the last of the Rawlings-made uniform era. EDIT: It was my junior season (2003-2004) that they went to the Nike-made stuff. The seams usually came undone at the bottom of game jerseys before the conference season even started. The painted numbers on the practice jerseys began to fade about halfway through the season, too. The ones from my freshman year (2001-2002) were the worst - painted numbers and letters on the game jersey in a font we've never used before or since. They were quite literally falling apart at the seams by mid-season.

Yeah, I think it's five if you count last year's home whites for the UMSL game and the "temporary" whites and blues after the logo change. One of the students on here implied we'd get a true alternate uniform, but that's probably asking too much.
Pistol
This was the last Rawlings jersey we ever wore. It was also the last one to feature the ball-spinning Billiken. From 2002-2003, Soderberg's first season: And the first Nike uniforms, used for two or three seasons beginning in fall 2003:
crymdg2
I want an alternate uniform with just the billiken face nothing else on the front. Like what Richmond has with just the spider.

Agreed crymdg2...I also like bringing back the retro uni that says "Billikens" on the front with the arch skyline & billiken mascot face on the shorts. The lettering is so small an illegible on the current uniforms it doesn't show up on TV...
