  1. No string music! They don't swish they .
  2. I think a huge factor is how lighting and background affect depth perception and confidence. I remember , more than once, taking a first warm up shot at an away game. It felt good, thought it was going in....airball. Even as a kid leaving your neighborhood to play at a different playground, the rims were too hard, too high, didn't have nets, or even worse, chain nets.
  3. This was a designed play to get the ref to call a foul. This was their only hope to win the game. Run into the big man, right in front of the ref. The player is not looking to receive the inbound pass. The inbounder is running and looking the other way. There is a good photo on the homepage of Mason's forum.

  5. Please stop the speculation about TJ and Jordan. Maybe they were not happy with their play. We were playing the team that leads the nation in forcing turnovers. It is easy to say take care of the ball on this board, it is another thing to do it on the court. Jones played 38 MINUTES, with 0 TURNOVERS. You must play a big man, Yuri, and Jimerson. So, for the final spot Thatch got the majority of the minutes.
  6. they are now called the Aristocrats
  7. Nesbitt's shot wasn't falling but, 8 rebounds, 4 blocks and 5 assists.
  8. I also played in the Normandy Christmas Tournament in the early seventies. It was very cool.
  9. In the summer of 1969 or '70 my summer baseball coach just back from Viet Nam, got a job teaching and coaching at Hancock. He had a key to the newly built dome, and I was invited to pick up games. The Dome, like most all gyms at that time was not air conditioned, but after playing you could go to the pool directly below the gym floor.
  10. Two 8 oz beer glasses with Falstaff on one side and the Billiken on the other. They must be from the height of Billiken and Falstaff popularity, in the late 40's or early 50's.
  11. I have a neighbor that is going to his first Billiken game, because his cousin plays on GM. I asked if he is sitting behind the GM bench, and how he got the tickets. He said his daughter got comp tix from a SLU player. Is there a legitimate way he could get in a GM section, or behind the bench?
  12. FYI: if you have a ROKU or anything that plays youtube, just type in "SAINT LOUIS VS BYU" it appeared for me straight away. Thanks, this works for me.
