Taj79
In case you missed it, Archie Miller dismissed 6'9" starting center Devon Scott and 6'9" reserve center Jalen Robinson from the team. Both were involved in a tresspassing incident in the dorms where money was stolen. And it seems there was a series of similar thefts with over 25 complaints registered over this past weekend. Looks as though they may have done this more than once. A Dayton City police investigation is underway. Scott was a team co-captain. Both are also former teammates from a Columbus high school. A coupel of things; this takes Dayton's roster down to 10 scholarship players. They are still waiting for freshman Detwon Rogers to be cleared from a knee injury to play. The dismissal gives Dayton a roster where no player stands taller than 6'6". Seven-foot freshman center Steve McElvene failed to qualify and is redshirting and Rogers ia also 6'6". Scott was averaging nearly 28 minutes a game with 9.4 ppg and 7.4 rpg. He was 3rd/1st on the team in those categories. Robinson averaged a15 minutes per game and was at 3.2 ppg and 2.4 rpg. Going to make life in dreay Dayton a little drearier this winter. But I'm sure th epopulace is okay and still expects a champion and a Final Four run. Miller also said he will no tlet them back on to the team ever an dhe expects then to transfer shortly. Applause for Archie -- no tolerance. Cowboy
-I guess in today's world offering kudos for doing the right thing is appropriate, so good on you Archie for doing the right thing, this will not take away from my joy when the Billikens beat you
White Pelican
Not to praise Archie too much since apparently at least one of the two has a long history of up. Arch finally had enough, or more likely, there are too many victims this time and it's too public.
cgeldmacher
I'm roadtripping to the Dayton game with 11 other guys. I told the other guys recently to be prepared for the fact that we were going to get whacked in that game. Now, I'm not so sure.
HoosierPal
Right on this point. These guys had been in trouble before. Miller did the right thing by flushing them but should have done so earlier. However, what coach wouldn't give players the fourth and fifth attempt at redemption. If these guys were at Mizzou, they would just be getting a good start on their criminal careers.
hsmith19
Another blow to the A-10 this year.
JettFlight5
Another blow to the A-10 this year. 1 bid is realistic at this point...and it lays waste to all the goodwill that was built up over the 5 and 6 bid seasons.
billiken class of 15
1 bid is realistic at this point...and it lays waste to all the goodwill that was built up over the 5 and 6 bid seasons. I would say the A10 may have overachieved a little the past two seasons, but it's also underachieving this year. I don't think it's really fair to expect the A10 to be a 5-6 bid conference year after year, but it should be at least 3-4.
hsmith19
I would still expect two bids at least. Hoping for three. Anything more than four this year is probably out of the question.

GOSLU68
Obviously, if they paid football players a reasonable salary none of this would have happened.
